KTM is set to reignite the premium 160 cc motorcycle segment in India. With the stakes of Bajaj Auto, KTM is planning to launch the much-awaited motorcycle RC 160 by the end of 2025. According to the latest spy shots revealed on the internet, the KTM RC 160 was recently spied testing on Indian roads, causing excitement among two-wheeler enthusiasts nationwide.
The new RC 160 promises to enhance KTM’s faired lineup, which currently includes the RC 200 and RC 390, while becoming the brand’s most accessible full-faired offering under the brand portfolio. Bajaj is calling this bike the supersport version of the Duke 160. Set to rival the Yamaha R15 V4, the RC 160 aims to raise the bar for performance and features in the entry-level segment.
From the latest spy shots, the RC 160 shows a signature orange paint, blending KTM’s bold aesthetic heritage with modern sportbike proportions. The bike closely mirrors the RC 200’s aggressive stance. With elements such as 5-spoke alloy wheels and a full-faired body inspired by the potent RC8, the RC 160 makes a visual statement that is athletic and ready for track days.

Under the strong Trellis mainframe and a bolt-on rear subframe like its larger RC variants, the upcoming RC 160 might be powered by a 164 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder DOHC 4V engine producing 19 HP of power and 15.5 Nm of peak torque.
This robust engine will be paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The RC 160’s setup is engineered for spirited riding and high-revving fun.

KTM maintains its reputation for tech-forward motorcycles. The latest spy shots confirm features such as an LCD instrument cluster offering rpm, speed, gear position, shift light, and real-time fuel data. Expect all-LED lighting, with ABS (possibly in single- or dual-channel variants) and premium hardware, including USD forks and a preload-adjustable monoshock.
A Bluetooth module for turn-by-turn navigation may be available as an add-on, enhancing its urban practicality and tech appeal.

The KTM RC 160 is set to become the most affordable faired KTM in India, with an expected price tag around Rs 1.80 lakh (ex-showroom). KTM India plans an early 2026 launch, positioning the RC 160 as a direct contender to Yamaha’s R15 V4 and Hero’s Karizma XMR in the high-demand sub-200cc supersport market.
The new KTM RC 160 is poised to redefine entry-level supersports with premium features, aggressive styling, and race-bred performance. As its India launch approaches, anticipation is at an all-time high, promising fresh excitement for younger riders and KTM enthusiasts alike.
