KTM has recently started its production at its Austrian plant after two two-month periods of temporary shutdown. With this, the brand has started the road pursuit of its upcoming projects, and the company is once again set to create a buzz in the motoring world. Recently, the latest spy shots have surfaced on the internet, where the KTM Adventure and KTM Duke were spied while testing.

This upcoming motorcycle promises to marry KTM’s raw aggression with touring-friendly versatility. As per the reports, many industry analysts claim that the two bikes might be the upcoming KTM Duke 790 and the 790 Adventure. Positioned to slot between the nimble single-cylinder offerings and the more premium ADVs, KTM is planning to expand its operations. Let us take a closer look at what KTM is planning for the Indian markets and what these bikes might look like.

A Glimpse Into KTM’s Future

The recent spy shots reveal that the bike is still in development and has been spied while testing on the road. The all-new images revealed have a heavily camouflaged prototype undergoing road trials, yet much of the silhouette speaks volumes. The design looks similar to the existing model. However, production specs and the chassis platform have been finalized before its official debut.

Twin-Cylinder Heart of the Beast

From the spy shot, we can expect that both bikes carry the same powertrain unit under the trellis frame. At the core lies the much-anticipated 790 cc parallel-twin engine for the KTM 790 Duke and the KTM 790 Adventure. Expect a balance between raw horsepower and tractable torque, tuned for versatile riding conditions. Furthermore, the reports demonstrated that the test mules might have a single front disc brake, suggesting that these units might be available for budget catering customers.

Adventure-Focused Ergonomics

Spy shots highlight that the Duke Adventure might come with a large windscreen arched by the wire-spoke wheel to perform better off-roading. The test mule also shows a rear top box rack, which might come as an accessory. In contrast to the Duke, the bike will feature sporty alloy wheels, a short tail section, and split seats. Arched with 17-inch wheels at both ends. Riders can expect ergonomics tailored for both spirited weekend rides and cross-country expeditions.

Styling Meets Functionality

Both pre-production bikes adhere to KTM’s Ready to Race ethos, as the design of both bikes is expected to give better balance, ride quality, and enhanced performance. Sources also indicate a TFT display with smartphone connectivity, navigation integration, and possibly KTM’s advanced suspension electronics package, which may be trickling down from higher models.

Enthusiasts Await an Official Debut

While KTM remains under the mystery, industry experts and corporate collaboration might debut the motorcycles in the upcoming months. If the test model stands true, fans and touring enthusiasts might see the bike based on the LC8c platform. Following the hiatus, sales figures for KTM's off-roading portfolio may meet expectations in the adventure category.

Conclusion

The KTM twin-cylinder Adventure and KTM Duke might be able to capture the allure of the Indian motoring world. The company is trying to shape up to be much more than another launch. For us as autofans, there are many questions to be raised about the test mule prototypes, but we can only expect something good when the final curtain falls.
