MG Motor unveiled its Cyberster at Auto Expo 2025 and confirmed the launch for April in India. The electric sports car will be retailed with its MG Select premium retail network.
The passenger vehicle market of India saw exciting launches in the first quarter of 2025, from January to March of this year. The momentum is expected to remain the same in the second quarter starting from April. In April 2025, leading brands like Volkswagen, MG, and Kia announced the launch of their flagship models in India. While Volkswagen will launch the Tiguan R-Line on April 14, the MG Cyberster EV is said to launch by the end of this month. Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line
The Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line is set to launch on April 14. It’s a sportier and refreshed version of the Tiguan SUV, which has been discontinued in India and now will be replaced with the upcoming R-Line. The Tiguan R-Line SUV is expected to feature a new interior design, technological features, and a refreshed exterior design. It will get power from a 2.0-liter TSI turbocharged petrol engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission or seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox to deliver 201 bhp power and 320 Nm of torque.
MG Cyberster
MG Motor unveiled its Cyberster at Auto Expo 2025 and confirmed the launch for April in India. The electric sports car will be retailed with its MG Select premium retail network. The automaker will also introduce the M9 electric limousine through the MG Select network. MY Cyberster will be the most powerful electric car from this brand and will be powered by a 77kWh battery pack, allowing it to deliver 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds with a top range of 580 km on a single charge.
Kia Carnes Facelift
Kia announced that it will launch its Carnes facelift in India in April 2025. The facelift version of the MPV will get some cosmetic changes and feature upgrades while likely retaining the powertrain available in existing models. Currently, the automaker offers a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine with a six-speed manual transmission or a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine with either a six-speed iMT or a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The automaker offers a 1.5-liter turbo engine paired with a six-speed manual or six-speed torque converter automatic transmission for the diesel option.
