Triumph Motorcycles India has recently announced a significant price change on its popular bikes, such as the Speed 400 and Speed T4 models, in India. This price transition came after the implementation of the new GST 2.0 tax reforms, which state that the two-wheeler above 350 cc will be priced under the 28% GST tax slab.
As the festive season approaches, the brand, despite a recent increase in GST for motorcycles above 350 cc, has taken a customer-first approach by absorbing these costs, making its iconic motorcycles more accessible and affordable for Indian customers. This price move highlights Triumph’s strong growth momentum in the Indian mid-size motorcycle segment, with the Speed range’s monthly sales nearly doubling since FY23-24.
Recent Price Reduction Highlights With New GST 2.0 Tax Regime
Triumph Motorcycles, with over 120 years of heritage, announced a price drop on its flagship Speed 400 and Speed T4 models. This reduction in prices came along with the implementation of GST, with an increase in tax of up to 40%. However, Baja Auto India has made a surprise move by keeping prices constant for the particular model. The brand has not disclosed how long these prices will remain constant.
Based on this, Triumph’s flagship Speed 400 and Speed T4 models have both received substantial price cuts. The Speed 400 is now available at Rs 2,33,754, which was earlier priced at Rs 2,05,551. On the other hand, Speed T4 is now made available for Rs 1,92,539, which is a decrease from Rs 2,06,738. These reductions come as a surprise, underlining Triumph’s determination to keep its models competitively priced for Indian customers.
From the President’s Desk
Speaking about the announcement, Mr. Manik Nangia, President of Baja Triumph India, said, “The Speed 400 and Speed T4 have set benchmarks in performance, design, and accessibility. By absorbing the impact and introducing a price slash, Triumph & Bajaj Auto are reaffirming their focus on the Indian market.”
He later added, “We have also seen monthly volumes nearly double since FY23-24 with a strong surge in demand before the GST revision, which is a clear reflection of the trust and aspirations customers associate with Triumph.”
Market Impact and Brand Growth

The Triumph Speed models have been one of the fastest-growing lines in Triumph’s India portfolio. Both the models underscore the strong traction that the brand enjoys, built on customer trust and growing preferences for Triumph motorcycles. Monthly sales have nearly doubled since the previous financial year, reinforcing the brand’s rising popularity among mid-capacity motorcycle enthusiasts.

Triumph-Bajaj Partnership in India
Triumph Motorcycles entered India in 2023 in partnership with Bajaj Auto. Both brands have brought their rich heritage, engineering excellence, and premium motorcycle lineup to Indian riders. Triumph combines iconic British design with modern engineering, offering models like the Bonneville series, Street and Speed Triples, the Tiger adventure range, and the accessible 400 cc TR series.
Conclusion
With its British-driven heritage, Triumph aims to continue expanding its reach across India, building vibrant riding communities while strengthening its leadership in the mid-capacity segment. The price revision comes as a catalyst to attract new customers and reaffirm the brand’s position as a preferred choice for discerning Indian riders.
