TVS Apache RTX 300 Highway Mileage and Touring Range Tested
The TVS Apache RTX 300 achieved 40.5 km/l highway mileage in real-world testing, offering a practical touring range of 400 km before low fuel warning and up to 450 km if fully drained. Range varies with speed and riding style.

The TVS Apache RTX 300, launched in 2026, is a significant release for the Indian motorcycle market. This model introduces TVS’ new RT-XD4 engine, which is entirely new and not related to the previous 310cc reverse-inclined motor. The Apache RTX 300 is TVS’ first adventure tourer motorcycle, designed for both touring and some off-road use.
Key Highlights
- TVS Apache RTX 300 tested for real-world highway mileage using tank-to-tank method
- Achieved 40.5 km per litre fuel efficiency at steady 85 km/h with cruise control
- Low fuel warning appeared at 391.1 km with about 50 to 60 km range remaining
- Estimated touring range is 400 km before warning and up to 450 km if fully drained
- Higher speeds around 100 km/h reduce range to between 300 km and 330 km per tank
Highway Mileage Test Results
We conducted a real-world fuel efficiency test using the tank-to-tank method. The Apache RTX 300 has a 12.5-litre fuel tank. For the test, the tank was filled to the brim before starting a 460 km highway journey. The goal was to maximize mileage without reducing highway speeds, so cruise control was set at 85 km/h for most of the trip. This helped maintain consistent throttle input and potentially improved fuel efficiency.
At the 390 km mark, the low fuel warning light appeared. The motorcycle was refueled at 391.1 km, using 9.65 litres of petrol. This resulted in a measured fuel efficiency of 40.5 km per litre. The low fuel warning on the instrument cluster activates at the last bar of the fuel gauge, and at this point, the range indicator stops displaying remaining distance.
Touring Range and Efficiency Insights
After refueling, it was estimated that 50 to 60 kilometres worth of fuel remained in the tank when the low fuel warning activated. This means the practical tank range before the warning is about 400 km, and the total possible range, if the tank is fully drained, is around 450 km. However, actual mileage and range can vary based on riding speed and style.
Further testing included a second fuel efficiency run, which produced similar results. Over 1,000 kilometres of monitoring, the Apache RTX 300 consistently delivered comparable fuel efficiency. At higher highway speeds, around 100 km/h, the expected range before the low fuel warning is between 300 km and 330 km per tank.
These figures provide potential buyers with realistic expectations for long-distance touring on the TVS Apache RTX 300. A more detailed review covering 1,000 km of usage will follow, offering additional insights into the motorcycle’s performance and efficiency.
