BMW F 450 GS Development

TVS Motor and BMW Motorrad have maintained a strategic partnership for several years. After collaborating on the 310cc platform, the companies are now developing a new twin-cylinder platform. The production version will have a displacement of around 420 cc, while the BMW F 450 GS Concept featured a 450 cc engine. The BMW F 450 GS will be the first motorcycle based on this new platform. It has been officially unveiled in both a spoke-wheel variant and a top-spec Trophy variant with cross-spoke wheels. The version recently spotted in India is the lower-spec spoke-wheel model.
The F 450 GS features LED lighting, a 6.5-inch TFT instrument cluster, fully adjustable front USD telescopic forks, and a rear offset mono-shock suspension. It is equipped with single disc brakes at both front and rear, dual-channel ABS, and a range of electronic rider aids. The design maintains the distinctive GS family styling.
Norton Atlas GT Expansion

Norton Motorcycles, a British brand acquired by TVS Motor, is also set for a resurgence. TVS has invested significantly in Norton, planning to launch four motorcycles: Atlas, Atlas GT, Manx, and Manx R. The Atlas GT, more focused on touring, shares its base with the Atlas model but offers premium features. It is powered by a 585 cc parallel twin-cylinder engine that produces about 70 HP.
The Atlas GT is positioned as a premium offering in Norton’s lineup. TVS Motor will manufacture both the BMW F 450 GS and Norton Atlas GT in India. This explains why both models were seen testing together. The company has not yet provided a specific launch timeline for either motorcycle in the Indian market.
TVS Motor’s Broader Strategy
Last year, TVS launched its first adventure motorcycle, the Apache RTX 300, in Theog, Himachal Pradesh. The Apache RTX 300 introduced the new RT-XD4 engine. TVS continues to develop and test new models for its own brand, as well as for BMW Motorrad and Norton Motorcycles. The company is also reportedly testing a 420cc supersport bike in India, further expanding its product range.
