The company expects Menon to guide its expansion, strengthen operations, and drive growth in India's deep-tech manufacturing sector. Leadership Experience and Background
Menon most recently served as Director, India at Tesla. He played a key role in shaping Tesla's entry strategy into the Indian market and managed the establishment of its operations across several business areas. He also held the position of chairman of the board for Tesla India. Before this, Menon was director of advisory at Tesla US, where he led global teams focused on revenue growth, productivity, and cost optimization.
His responsibilities included large-scale transformation and restructuring projects across multiple regions. Earlier in his career, Menon worked with EY. There, he advised senior executives on strategy, mergers and acquisitions, operational integration, supply chain management, and working capital optimization.
Role and Impact at Venttup
At Venttup, Menon will work with the founders and leadership team on strategic growth planning, global market expansion, and operational scalability. He will also focus on investor engagement and the development of strategic partnerships. Venttup co-founder and CEO Sandeep Nair stated that Menon's experience in scaling global organizations and leading transformation initiatives aligns with Venttup's goal of building a globally competitive manufacturing startup from India.
Menon expressed interest in Venttup's business model and its alignment with the Government of India's "Make in India" initiative. He aims to support the leadership team in achieving its growth and operational targets.
Bhaskar Majumdar, Managing Partner at Unicorn India Ventures and an early investor in Venttup, welcomed Menon's appointment. Majumdar cited Menon's global industry experience, understanding of supply chain dynamics, and interest in India's manufacturing deep-tech ecosystem as valuable assets for Venttup's growth.
