The Vietnamese car manufacturer, VinFast, has launched the much-awaited car, the VinFast VF7, in the Indian automotive market. A sporty premium electric SUV is priced between Rs 20.89 lakh for the entry-level model and Rs 25.49 lakh for the top-of-the-line Sky Infinity AWD trim level. The car will be manufactured locally at VinFast's Tamil Nadu plant.
This SUV offers a compelling blend of performance, cutting-edge technology, and design, setting new benchmarks for electric mobility in India. VinFast has also launched the mid-size electric SUV VF6 for Indian customers. However, the most premium flagship model will be VF7. The car is poised to compete with rivals like the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia Carens EV, and Mahindra 9e. Let’s check out the specs and see what it offers within the package for Indian customers.

The VinFast VF7 carries an asymmetrical design philosophy featuring sleek, sporty body contours. The front fascia of the car is graced by signature ‘V Face’ LED DRLs integrated with sporty projector LED headlamps. The exterior design language is encapsulated with modern flush door handles to give a modernity to the eSUV. By looking at the car from the rear, we get to see the smart LED taillight configuration connected by a light bar.
The car is equipped with 19-inch alloy wheels, and the charging port is discreetly placed on the left side at the front of the car. At the rear, we can also witness a coupe-inspired roof spoiler, with a shark-fin antenna at the top. It also comes with a slim windscreen, and the LED-tuned indicators are now placed horizontally, thus giving a minimalist look.

When you step inside the car, the car welcomes you with a spacious yet luxurious cabin wrapped with premium vegan leather upholstery. Buyers can choose between an all-black or mocha brown with a black interior theme. The dashboard includes a 12.9-inch central touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Furthermore, the dashboard offers a color head-up display and dual-zone automatic climate control. Key highlights include ventilated front seats, an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, and an ADAS Level 2 suite. Moving to the higher trim level, you may get a panoramic sunroof with multiple autonomous driving aids.

The recently launched VinFast VF7 comes with two battery configuration setups. The entry-level variant called Earth comes with a 59.6 kWh battery pack that delivers 174 HP and 250 Nm of torque. This trim level offers an ARAI-claimed range of about 438 km on a single charge. Then comes the second trim, known as the Wind, powered by a 70.8 kWh battery pack that produces 150 HP along with 310 Nm of peak torque.
Then comes the top-trim level, Infinity, available under the Wind and Sky variants only. The vehicle has the same battery configuration but is tuned to generate around 250 HP and 500 Nm of peak torque. The AWD Sky variant accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in just 5.8 seconds, with a 510 km range.
Considering the prices of the car, the entry-level trim Earth with FWD paired is priced at Rs 20.89 lakh. Whereas the Wind trim level comes around Rs 23.49 lakh. If you are going to buy the top-end variant clubbed with the Wind trim level, then you might have to pay at least Rs 23.99 lakh as a cost price.
Then comes the top-of-the-line Sky variant; the Sky AWD transmission might cost around Rs 24.99 lakh, and then for the top trim, the Sky Infinity AWD is priced at Rs 25.49 lakh. All prices are mentioned ex-showroom in India. It is available in six vibrant colors: Jet Black, Desat Silver, Infinity Blanc, Crimson Red, Zenith Grey, and Urban Mint.
The launch of the VinFast VF7 signifies a commitment to expanding its footprint with a growing dealership network. The brand is reinforcing its vision for a greener and electrified future in India’s automotive space. VinFast offers a 10-year or 2 lakh km battery warranty, three years of free maintenance, and free charging through VinFast’s VGreens network until July 2028.
