Volkswagen Introduces Taigun GT Line and Taigun GT Plus Sport; Check out Upgrades

Volkswagen Taigun GT Line: Volkswagen has recently introduced the all-new Taigun GT line and Taigun GT Plus Sport. The automaker has launched both these cars in the new “Sport” lineup which comes with a black sport theme inside and out. The brand officially unveiled both upgrades at the VW Annual Brand Conference 2024 for the first time, the automaker has strategically priced both these upgrades. 

Some noticeable upgrades of the hatchback include smoked LED headlamps, a red-finished GT badge and brake callipers and a carbon steel grey roof. Apart from this, the hatchback now comes with dark chrome door handles,  brake callipers and 17-inch alloy wheels with black finished elements.

Volkswagen Taigun GT Line: What’s New

The new Volkswagen Taigun GT Line and Taigun GT Plus Sport come with a new black upholstery with the signature red stitching, black headliner, GT badging on the front headrests and gloss black dashboard. Another new addition is a new steering, sun visors roof lamp housing and blacked grab handles.

The Taigun GT Plus Sport comes equipped with a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine which generates a maximum power of 148 bhp and a peak torque of 250 Nm. Another engine option is the 1.0-litre TSI engine which churns out the maximum power of 113 bhp and a peak torque of 178 Nm. Both the powerhouses come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard. Customers can also get an automatic transmission for 1.0 TSI and 7 speed DSG unit for 1.5 EVO.

Volkswagen Virtus GT Plus India Debut Close

The automaker also unveiled the Virtus GT Plus version at the brand conference which is currently at the concept level. However, we can expect the launch of Virtus GT Plus by the end of this year. The Virtus GT Plus will also see similar upgrades as the newly launched Taigun GT Line and Taigun GT Plus Sport. 

Volkswagen Plans to Widen Its India Network

In a recent development, Volvo has also announced that it will broaden its network in the country. The brand has planned to increase the number of dealerships to 230 in 2023. It’s worth noting that VW had only 193 dealerships across India in 2023. The company will also increase the number of service touchpoints from 142 to 150 with a full-fledged presence in 25 more cities in India by the end of this year.
