The Taigun Highline falls under the chrome category in the variant lineup. It adds several premium touches over the base variant. The front features full LED headlamps with LED DRLs, a chrome strip on the lower bumper, and a muscular bonnet design. Auto-levelling headlights and cornering lights are included, improving both style and safety. A silver-finished front diffuser is also present. However, the Highline does not get the illuminated VW logo or the connected LED light strip found on higher trims.

From the side, the Highline introduces 16-inch alloy wheels, replacing the steel wheels of the base variant. Body-coloured ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, body-coloured door handles, and black functional roof rails are standard. The variant does not include 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels or chrome applique on the door handles.

At the rear, the Highline offers LED tail lamps with sequential turn indicators, a chrome strip on the bumper, and signature 'TAIGUN' lettering on the tailgate. It lacks the illuminated logo but provides a rear wiper with washer and a rear defogger. The design remains balanced and premium, even without the sportier GT elements of higher variants.

Interior and Features

Inside, the Highline brings a noticeable upgrade in cabin quality and features compared to the base variant. The dashboard adopts a grey theme with cross-line inserts and chrome accents around the AC vents. Fabric seats feature silver grey stitching. Comfort features include a sliding front armrest, rear AC vents, a 60:40 split-folding rear seat, and a rear centre armrest with cup holders. Ambient lighting and a well-designed dashboard enhance the in-cabin experience. The main omission is a parcel tray, which is available from the Highline Plus variant onwards.

The infotainment system includes a 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, paired with a 6-speaker sound system. Voice commands and built-in apps are also available. Additional features include automatic climate control, a wireless phone charger, and cruise control on automatic variants. Electrically adjustable ORVMs, paddle shifters, and charging ports at the front and rear add convenience. However, the Highline lacks a digital instrument cluster, electrically foldable ORVMs, cooled glovebox, one-touch up/down for the driver's window, and auto headlights. Premium features like a panoramic sunroof and ventilated or powered driver seats are also missing.

Safety and Powertrain

The Highline variant is equipped with 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, multi-collision braking, and hill start assist for automatic variants. Front and rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, tyre pressure deflation warning, ISOFIX child seat mounts, three-point seatbelts for all passengers, and a rear wiper with washer and defogger are included.

The Taigun Highline uses a 1-litre turbo-petrol engine, available with a 6-speed manual or a new 8-speed automatic transmission, which replaces the previous 6-speed automatic unit. Prices for the updated Taigun are yet to be announced.
