Volkswagen Tayron: Volkswagen has recently unveiled the India-bound VW Tayron at the Beijing Motor Show 2024. The SUV will make its first debut in the Chinese market and its India debut is expected by sometime in 2025. It is worth mentioning that the China spec Tayron is officially called Taigun L-Pro by the automaker which gets 5 seat layout. The VW Tayron will also be available with a 7-seater layout in some other International markets which will be an elongated version of the five-seater Tiguan which debuted in September 2023.

The all-new Tayron SUV derives some design elements from the global SUV lineup. Diving into more details, it’ll get the Tiagun-like rounded front fascia as the Tayron. It will also come with a redesigned front bumper with A blacked-out grille on the front (for the top-spec R variant). On the other hand, other variants come with a less aggressive appeal.

Talking about the design language, the Tayron gets blacked-out elements, a large glasshouse, and flared wheel arches. Talking about the dimensions, it is 4735 mm long, 1859 mm wide and 1682 mm high. At the back, the Tayron gets a finely designed tailgate, blacked-out rear bumper and tail lamps with a connected LED light bar.

Volkswagen Tayron: Engine and Power Figures

The Tayron comes with a powerful 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine which comes mated to a 7-speed DCT gearbox and all-wheel drivetrain. The lower variant generates a maximum power of 184 bhp and a peak torque of 320 Nm. On the other hand, the top-end iteration churns out the maximum power output of 350 Nm.

Volkswagen Tayron India Launch

The new Tayron will be available in India via the CKD route. It is expected to make its India debut in 2025. Once launched the VW Tayron will rival with the likes of Jeep Meridian and Skoda Kodiaq.

CarBike360 Says

The Volkswagen Tayron, with its blend of sleek design and robust performance, seems poised to make a splash in the Indian market. While its arrival in 2025 is eagerly anticipated, the competition with Jeep Meridian and Skoda Kodiaq promises an exciting showdown.
