Yamaha X-Max Latest Update

Latest Update: The Yamaha X-Max scooter is already available in select international markets, including Thailand, where it launched the updated version of the X-Max scooter at TBH 2,09,000 (approx Rs 4.07 lakh). Yamaha also launched XMax in Malaysia at a starting price of RM 24,498 (approx. Rs 4.35 lakh) last year. The two-wheeler brand aims to launch the Yamaha XMax series scooter in India, possibly during the festival season starting in October 2025.

While the launch of the new XMax scooters in India is expected, the specification details have not been confirmed by Yamaha. Based on sources and international products, it's expected that the upcoming Yamaha XMax scooter will feature a sharp and aggressive design. It will have fairly muscular attire, an LED light setup in front, and a large windscreen for a more stylish look.

The maxi-scooter can be powered by a 292cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine tuned to produce 27.2 bhp and 29 Nm of torque. There is also a 249.8cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine option available that delivers 22.4 bhp and 24.3 Nm of peak torque. The vehicle features a CVT gearbox that delivers power to the rear wheel via a belt drive system.

Yamaha provides a disc brake setup on both ends for enhanced control when riding on city roads. The suspension setup includes telescopic forks at the front and twin rear shock absorbers. Interestingly, the upcoming Yamaha scooter has a seat height of 780 mm, making it ideal for a broad range of customers.

In addition to a powerful engine, the Yamaha XMax packs a range of premium features like a 4.2-inch TFT LCD screen, Yamaha Y-connect app, and Garmin StreetCross app.

Price & Rivals
Yamaha XMax scooter in India is expected to be priced from Rs 4.35 lakh and rival premium segment scooters, including Keeway Sixties 300i, Vespa Justine Bieber X, and Keeway Vieste 300.

Yamaha XMAX 250: What to Expect?

The Yamaha XMAX 250 is expected to be an entry-level maxi-scooter that blends sporty styling with practical touring capability. Positioned above conventional scooters, it could target riders seeking more power, comfort, and highway ability. If introduced in India, this premium Yamaha scooter may help expand the growing maxi-scooter segment with its performance-oriented design and feature-rich package.

Key Highlights

  • Engine: Expected 249cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine
  • Performance: Likely to produce around 22.5 hp and 24 Nm of torque
  • Expected Price: Around Rs 3.5 lakh (ex-showroom) if launched in India
  • Mileage: Estimated fuel efficiency of around 30-32 km/l
  • Top Speed: Could reach around 130 km/h
  • Key Features: Traction control, ABS, smart key ignition, LED lighting, and a fully digital instrument console
  • Launch Timeline: Could arrive in India if Yamaha expands its premium scooter lineup

The XMAX 250 is likely to follow Yamaha’s sporty maxi-scooter styling seen in its global lineup. A sharp front fascia with X-shaped LED headlights, aerodynamic body panels, and a tall windscreen could give it a premium and aggressive look.

Feature-wise, the scooter could come equipped with modern technology such as a fully digital LCD instrument cluster, smartphone connectivity, traction control, and dual-channel ABS. Practical elements like keyless ignition, under-seat storage for a full-face helmet, adjustable windscreen, and a 12-volt charging outlet may also enhance everyday usability.

If introduced in India, the XMAX 250 would enter the entry-level maxi-scooter category and could compete with models like the Honda Forza 300, Vespa GTS 300, and Suzuki Burgman 200 in global markets. Its combination of performance, comfort, and premium features may position it as a lifestyle scooter rather than a basic commuter.

Conclusion
The Yamaha XMAX 250 could become an appealing option for riders looking for a sporty yet practical maxi-scooter with strong highway ability and modern features. If Yamaha decides to bring it to India, it may help grow the premium scooter segment by offering a balance of performance, comfort, and everyday usability.
