Skoda Kushaq 1.0 TSI automatic real-world mileage tested: city & highway results
A detailed real-world fuel efficiency test of the Skoda Kushaq 1.0 TSI automatic across city and highway driving conditions.

The Skoda Kushaq 1.0 TSI Automatic now features a new eight-speed automatic transmission. Many buyers want to know its real-world fuel efficiency. To answer this, the top-spec Monte Carlo variant underwent a standard fuel efficiency test.
Key Highlights
- Skoda Kushaq 1.0 TSI Automatic tested for real-world fuel efficiency
- City efficiency recorded at 8.93 km/L with MID showing 10.1 km/L
- Highway efficiency reached 16.83 kmpl slightly above MID reading of 16.5 kmpl
- Test conditions included typical urban traffic and expressway driving in high temperatures
Test Vehicle and Setup
The Kushaq Monte Carlo variant uses a 1.0-litre TSI turbo petrol engine. This engine produces 114 HP and 178 Nm of torque. It is paired with the new eight-speed AISIN automatic gearbox. The car weighs 1,320 kg, making it relatively light for its class. This weight helps its efficiency numbers.
The test followed standard city and highway loops. These routes are used for all real-world efficiency tests to ensure consistency. The air conditioning was set to 22 degrees, with a fan speed between two and three. Infotainment and seat ventilation features were used as in daily driving. The idle start-stop function remained active throughout the test.
City and Highway Efficiency Results

The city loop covered 93.1 km in Navi Mumbai. The test took place during typical urban traffic, and daytime temperatures ranged from 35 to 38 degrees Celsius. The Skoda Kushaq returned a real-world efficiency of 8.93 km/pl. The car’s MID (multi-information display) showed a higher figure of 10.1 km/L. This difference of over a litre per kilometer is notable for buyers.
For the highway test, the car was driven over a 90.9 km stretch on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. Outside temperatures exceeded 40 degrees Celsius during this run. On the highway, the Kushaq achieved 16.83 kmpl in real-world conditions. The MID reading was 16.5 km/L, making this one of the rare cases where real-world efficiency slightly exceeded the instrument cluster’s figure.
Analysis of Results
The Kushaq 1.0 TSI automatic shows different efficiency results in city and highway conditions. In the city, the figure of 8.93 km/L is on the lower side. Stop-and-go traffic and heavy air conditioning use in high temperatures contribute to this result. Buyers who drive mostly in city conditions should consider this when estimating running costs.
On the highway, the Kushaq performs much better. The real-world figure of 16.83 kmpl is strong for its segment. The fact that this number slightly exceeded the MID reading suggests consistent performance at cruising speeds. This makes the Kushaq a practical choice for longer journeys.
