Hyundai verna is among the top choices in the Indian auto market for enthusiasts who prefer sedan segment vehicles, as noticing the trend Indian consumers are more inclined toward SUV category than any other. However, Verna is one of the most popular mid-size sedans in the Indian market and currently in its 4th gen avatar, launched in 2023. Now Hyundai is planning to introduce a facelift update, spy shots have revealed a fully camouflaged Verna facelift hinting the launch can be seen in the coming year. Let’s look closely at the images to understand the changes on the way.

The Hyundai Verna Facelift has been spotted testing, and the latest spy shots showcase a clear idea of its design. While the overall silhouette remains familiar to its predecessor, Hyundai appears to be giving the sedan a sharper and more modern visual appeal. At the front it offers vertically stacked LED headlamps replacing the current horizontal oriented LED setup giving the Verna a more upright and distinctive face. The DRLs seem to be redesigned along with that front, and rear bumpers are also reworked, giving it a fresh and modern appearance.

From the sides the body panel appears to be similar, continuing with conventional pull-type door handle design. However, the test mule is visible with a new alloy design, probably carrying the same 16-inch size with 205-section tyres. Moreover, at the back it is going to retain its signature design language with some minor tweaks expected in the LED tail-lamp and bumper styling to make it stand apart from the ongoing model.

In the spy shots the cabin is also camouflaged, revealing very little idea of the inside layout and design. Automakers are planning to uplift the Verna facelift towards a more premium and tech loaded cabin, from what is visible in test images a new dual-curved screen setup is expected combining two 12.3-inch displays for the instrument cluster and infotainment system, with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The beige upholstery seen in the test car hints at new interior colour options, possibly with a dual-tone finish.
A redesigned steering wheel has also been spotted, other feature upgrades could include dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, enhanced connected car technology, and possibly Level-2 ADAS, keeping the Verna competitive in the midsize sedan segment.
Mechanically, the Verna Facelift is expected to remain unchanged. It will likely continue with the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 112 bhp and 143.8 Nm, offered with manual and iVT gearboxes. The more powerful 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, generating 158 bhp and 253 Nm, should also carry forward, paired with either a manual or a dual-clutch automatic. Once launched, the updated Verna will continue to rival the Honda City, Skoda Slavia, and Volkswagen Virtus, keeping the midsize sedan segment alive in an SUV-dominated market.

The Verna Facelift appears to be a timely and sensible update rather than a radical overhaul. With sharper styling, a more tech-focused cabin, and proven powertrains carried forward, Hyundai seems focused on strengthening the Verna’s appeal where it matters most. These updates should help it stay relevant and competitive against newer rivals in an increasingly SUV-driven market.
