The Bajaj Pulsar 220F, one of the most successful models in the brand’s portfolio, has finally received an update and has been launched in India at a price of Rs 1.28 lakh (ex-showroom). Discontinued in 2022, the Pulsar 220F made a comeback in 2023 following strong market demand. Part of one of the most popular motorcycle line-ups in the Indian market, the 220F has been around for nearly 15 years. With this latest update, the bike now gets several noticeable upgrades, including both cosmetic and functional changes. Let’s take a look at what’s new this time.

The updated Pulsar 220F brings a fresh colour scheme and now offers consumers four different options, including Black Cherry Red, Black Ink Blue, Black Copper Beige, and Green Light Copper. The colour palette is largely built around a black core, with secondary shades used to highlight key styling elements from front to rear. This gives the bike a fresh and stylish appearance, along with a distinctive road presence that is likely to turn heads.

Moreover, the Bajaj Pulsar 220F now comes equipped with dual-channel ABS, promising riders enhanced safety and confidence while riding. Braking duties are handled by a 280 mm disc at the front and a 230 mm disc at the rear. This dual-disc setup provides sharp and controlled stopping on the road. With improved safety, refreshed styling, and competitive pricing, the Pulsar 220F remains a considerable choice in its segment.

Engine and Performance
At the heart of the bike is a 220cc oil-cooled, Twin Spark FI DTS-i engine that produces 20.9 PS of power and 18.55 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox, allowing for smooth gear transitions.

The familiar tuning remains, delivering accessible mid-range power and stress-free cruising, making it a suitable choice for riders who want performance and practicality without upgrading to larger 250cc or 300cc motorcycles.
Besides the new colour schemes and dual-channel ABS, there are no major changes. The bike continues to retain its sporty stance with a curvy fuel tank, upswept exhaust, front-cowl-mounted polygonal rear-view mirrors, and a familiar split-seat setup. It also features a fully digital reverse monochrome LCD display with Bluetooth connectivity, allowing riders to access calls, messages, and turn-by-turn navigation. A USB charging port is offered as standard.

Suspension duties are handled by telescopic front forks with anti-friction bushes and 5-way adjustable Nitrox shock absorbers at the rear. The bike has a kerb weight of 160 kg and offers 165 mm of ground clearance.

The Pulsar 220F’s update focuses on meaningful improvements rather than reinvention. Added safety tech and refreshed colours help it stay relevant, while the proven engine and familiar riding feel continue to appeal to loyal fans. It remains a sensible choice for riders who want sporty character, everyday usability, and dependable performance without moving to newer, pricier segments.
