2026 Kawasaki Z650 RS Launched in India At Rs 7.83 Lakh
The 2026 Kawasaki Z650RS blends 1970s retro aesthetics with modern 649 cc performance, priced at Rs 7.83 lakh in India. Updated for E20 fuel with a new Metallic Ocean Blue scheme.

Kawasaki India Motors has unveiled the 2026 Z650RS, blending 1970s retro styling with modern performance in a middleweight package ideal for Indian riders. This updated motorcycle brings E20 fuel compliance, a fresh Metallic Ocean Blue paint scheme with gold wheels, and deliveries starting mid-January 2026 across 46 dealerships.
The Z650RS pays homage to the iconic Z lineage, the Kawasaki Z650, offering a "RETROVOLUTION" with user-friendly ergonomics for city commutes and spirited rides. Mechanically aligned with the Ninja 650 and Versys 650, it features subtle tweaks for Indian conditions while retaining core appeal. Let’s take a look at the all-new Kawasaki Z650RS.
Striking Retro Design

The 2026 Z650RS showcases timeless 1970s cues through a slim 12-liter fuel tank, a classic round LED headlight mimicking retro bulbs, and cast wheels styled like wire spokes. Its trellis high-tensile steel frame delivers a muscular roadster stance with dimensions of 2,065 mm length, 800 mm width, and 1,115 mm height.
A compact horizontal LED tail lamp and ergonomic 820 mm seat height ensure accessibility for diverse riders. The new Metallic Ocean Blue bodywork with gold accents replaces the prior black-gold scheme, enhancing visual drama without altering graphics.
Kawasaki Z650RS: Engine Specs

The motorcycle will be powered by a 649 cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin DOHC engine, now E20 compliant, producing 68 HP of power and 62.1 Nm of torque. The brand suggests a 1.9 Nm drop from the previous model for ethanol blend durability. This engine is paired with a six-speed return-shift gearbox with a wet multi-disc assist-and-slipper clutch for smooth shifts.
The bike is equipped with the Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC), which offers two modes for traction management, while fuel injection with dual 36 mm throttles optimizes low-to-mid-range response. With such an engine configuration setup, the bike can accelerate to a top speed of about 212 kmph, with a claimed mileage of about 23 kmpl.
Advanced Chassis
Considering its suspension system, the bike comes with a 41 mm telescopic front fork with 125 mm travel and a rear horizontal back-link swingarm with preload adjustability and 130 mm travel. Braking features dual 300 mm front discs with twin-piston calipers, a single 220 mm rear disc, and standard dual-channel ABS for confident stopping power.
Refined Features

Looking at the features of the bike, dual analog dials house a multi-function LCD with smartphone connectivity via Rideology, the app, for data logging and ride analysis. Additional aids include a service due indicator, digital odometer/trip meter, and DRLs.
Tyres measure 120/70-ZR17 in front and 160/60-ZR17 in the rear on 17-inch alloys, with 125 mm ground clearance and 187 kg kerb weight for agile handling. The 1,405 mm wheelbase and 100 mm trail promote stability.

Conclusion
With the 2026 Z650RS, Kawasaki has sharpened its neo-retro proposition just enough to stay fresh without diluting its classic charm, making it a compelling upgrade for enthusiasts who value character as much as performance.
