Nissan Motor India is gearing up for a big moment as it prepares to unveil the much-anticipated 2026 Nissan Gravite tomorrow, January 21, 2026. This all-new compact MPV marks the brand's bold entry into the sub-4m category segment, promising practical space and affordability for Indian families. With the joint alliance with Renault, the upcoming MPV would be based on the proven CMF A+ platform, on which the upcoming Renault Duster will be based.

Nissan will announce the prices of the car by March 2026, and the deliveries will be expected shortly after. This debut will help Nissan to strengthen its brand presence in the Indian automotive market, facing rivals like the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and the 2026 MG Hector facelift. Expected Design & Dimensions

Talking about the dimensions, the Nissan Gravite might measure around 3,990 mm in length and offer a 2,636 mm wheelbase. Moreover, the brand offers a ground clearance of about 185 mm. As a 7-seater MPRV, the vehicle might follow a compact and aerodynamic look, making it suitable for daily driving but not for long highway runs.

Considering the design of the car, Nissan has only given a glimpse of the front and the rear end of the car while keeping the overall design profile under wraps. Through the spy shot that surfaced a month ago, we can expect the front fascia of the car with a wide grille integrated with subtle chrome accents and a revised LED headlamp setup.

Refreshed Features & Interiors

The upcoming Nissan Gravite is expected to share a few important features with the Renault Triber. A few features, such as an 8-inch infotainment system, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, and a 6-speaker sound system, might be carried over from the current Triber model.

The brand also promises to give modern touches with a redesigned dashboard and premium leather upholstery for the top trim level. Indian customers can also expect ventilated front seats and ample storage cubbies for practicality. This setup delivers clever space management, including modular 7-seater layouts that slide and fold for cargo flexibility.

Nissan is expected to borrow the current Renault Triber’s naturally aspirated powertrain as an option for its upcoming MPV. Talking about the Nissan Gravite’s powertrain, a 1.0L 3-cylinder naturally aspirated engine will be used that produces 72 HP of power and 96 Nm of peak torque.

Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual or AMT automatic, with mileage estimates around 20 kmpl for MT and 17 kmpl for AT. A dealer-fitted CNG option could follow, appealing to cost-conscious buyers in urban India. No turbo variant is on the cards yet.

Pricing & Market Outlook

For the 2026 iteration, the Nissan Gravite MPV might be priced between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 9.00 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. The Gravite undercuts the Magnite while directly challenging the Renault Triber, Maruti Ertiga, and Citroen C3 Aircross.
