Japanese Manufacturer Nissan is planning to gain momentum and enhance its presence in the Indian automarket with several launches planned for 2026. The brand has scheduled launches from different segments targeting a wider range of consumers with SUV, 7-Seater, and MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle). Recently, Nissan appointed Thierry Sabbagh as Divisional Vice-President for the region, signaling Nissan’s growing focus on India as an important market, as the brand moves from restructuring toward expansion and execution. So, let's have a closer look at the upcoming launches set for this year.

Starting the list with Nissan’s upcoming 7-seater MPV the Gravite positioned as a family car offering more flexibility while keeping it a budget-friendly option for consumers. The MPV is expected to build upon CMF-A+ platform shared with the upcoming Renault Triber. Further the car follows the typical Nissan design language with V-motion grille, revised headlights and a more upright bumper design complementing to its stronger road presence. On the rear it is expected to get a connected tail-lamp, revised bumper and some subtle detailing to create a distinct identity from Renault. Mechanically the Nissan Gravite is likely to carry a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine that can produce around 72hp and 96Nm paired to a 5-speed manual or AMT gearbox. 

Moreover, the interior is going to be spacious thanks to its CMF-A+ platform, while the other details about the cabin are still under wraps though it is expected to feature a 8-inch touchscreen information system, digital driver display, engine start-stop button wireless charging and Android Auto and Apple Car Play support with other features that enhance overall convenience. Pricing will play a crucial role for the Gravite if positioned competitively, it could emerge as a smart choice for families. The expected price for this Upcoming MPV is somewhere between Rs 6 lakh to 9 lakhs (ex-showroom).

The next on our list is the Nissan Tekton. It is the brand's upcoming SUV offering that is aimed at strengthening Nissan's presence in the highly competitive Compact SUV space. The details available so far reveal that the Tekton underpins the same platform as Renault Duster. Along with that brand showcased a glimpse of the car which gives us an idea about the overall design, from what we have seen so far, the Tekton appears to be drawing inspiration from Brands larger overseas offering the Nissan Patrol featuring a sculpted bonnet complemented with C-shaped head lamp, bold front fascia with a strong and muscular lower bumper. From the sides its robust proportion creates a striking and memorable appeal. At the rear it comes with a connected C-shaped tail lamp and prominent Tekton Badging. 

The recent teaser hints at a premium three-tone dashboard with polished black finish complemented by a bronze strip stretching across to the side AC vents. Beside that features that are expected includes 

  • A large touchscreen infotainment system
  • A panoramic sunroof 
  • Automatic climate control 
  • Wireless smartphone charging 
  • Ventilated seats 
  • Powered tailgate

Moreover, the engine specifications of the car are yet to be announced by the brand, yet sightings suggest at a 1.3-litre and 1.0-litre Turbo-petrol options for different trims. Lastly the price which is expected to be somewhere around Rs 11–19 lakh (ex-showroom).

Nissan’s revival strategy continues with an addition of a 7-seater compact SUV, the brand's third offering in the market set to arrive in 2027. Automakers have designed the Nissan C-SUV to take rivals in the popular family SUV space. Once launched it will lock horns with rivals such as the Hyundai Alcazar and Kia Carens Clavis, promising practicality without compromising on style. Moreover, the official details have not been disclosed by Nissan, yet sources suggest that the upcoming model is likely to build around the Renault Boreal platform that has gained prominence in countries like Turkey and Brazil. Engine is expected to be shared with the Nissan Tekton which is tuned to provide efficiency and performance for both city and highway conditions. With a flexible seating layout and contemporary design cues, the upcoming 7-seater is designed to strike a balance between versatility and premium appeal.
