2026 Tata Punch Facelift Launched In India At Rs 5.59 Lakh

Tata Motors has unveiled the 2026 Punch facelift, starting at an aggressive Rs 5.59 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. The facelift variant builds on the original Tata Punch's sales success, with over 5 lakh units sold. For the 2026 iteration, the brand is introducing Punch EV-inspired styling, enhanced safety across variants, and new tech like a 10.25-inch touchscreen. The car is priced to undercut rivals like the Maruti Suzuki Fronx and Hyundai Exter.

The facelift arrives amid rising demand for feature-loaded, safe compact SUVs, with Tata emphasizing a 5-star safety foundation upgraded for 2026. New Design Upgrades

The 2026 Tata Punch facelift adopts sharper, more muscular lines echoing the Punch EV, with redesigned LED headlamps, seamless LED DRLs, and a bolder front grille flanked by redesigned bumpers. Higher trims like Accomplished+ S add connected LED tail lamps, 16-inch alloys, and LED fog lamps with a cornering function, enhancing road presence without inflating dimensions. Yet, the car is still 3,847 mm long.

The most prominent update is the introduction of a new color, including a vibrant Seaweed Green, joining existing options, while aerodynamic tweaks promise marginal efficiency gains. The rear gains a sleeker spoiler and extended thigh support visibility through larger windows, blending style with practicality for urban explorers.

Refreshed Tech and Interiors

The most important upgrades are the ones you might see while getting inside the car. Cabin refinements elevate perceived quality. In the facelift variant, there is a two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo, touch-based climate control with toggles, and blue-grey upholstery. The base Smart variant debuts a 7-inch digital cluster in top trims, paired with an 8-inch or 10.25-inch Harman infotainment system supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Convenience shines with cruise control, a height-adjustable driver's seat, USB Type-C fast charging, a wireless charger, a 360-degree camera, and a voice-assisted sunroof. Rear AC vents, a center armrest, and an auto-dimming IRVM from the Pure trim upwards ensure family comfort, with connected car tech enabling remote commands.

​Tata Punch Facelift: Powertrain Options

A new powertrain option is now available under the all-new Tata Punch Facelift variant. This new engine will be a 1.2L turbocharged petrol engine that produces 120 HP of power and 170 Nm of peak torque, paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Another engine is a usual 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol engine aligned with a 5-speed manual and AMT as a secondary option for customers.

This naturally aspirated engine produces 87.8 HP of power and 115 Nm of peak torque. Tata Motors is also offering a CNG variant that produces about 73.4 HP of power and 103 Nm of peak torque. Transmissions might include a 5-speed manual, AMT, and a potential 6-speed gearbox.
