The facelifted Taigun features significant design changes while maintaining its sporty character. The Comfortline variant includes LED headlamps and LED daytime running lights (DRLs). Unlike higher trims, it does not have the connected LED DRL or illuminated Volkswagen logo. Instead, a slim chrome strip connects the headlamps. The front grille is black with chrome inserts, and the bumper is complemented by a skid plate.

The side profile remains similar to the previous version. It includes roof rails, wheel arch cladding, body-coloured door handles, and body-coloured outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs). The Comfortline variant uses steel wheels with plastic covers, distinguishing it from higher trims.

At the rear, the Taigun Comfortline offers LED tail lamps with an illuminated connecting element, a feature uncommon in base variants. The tail lamps sit in a gloss black strip that houses the Volkswagen logo, which is not illuminated. The rear bumper features side reflectors, a chrome strip, and a skid plate.

The updated Taigun is available in eight monotone colours: Lava Blue Metallic, Carbon Steel Grey Metallic, Wild Cherry Red Metallic, Deep Black Pearl Effect, Reflex Silver Metallic, Candy White, Steel Grey, and Avocado Pearl Effect. The Comfortline variant offers all monotone options except Steel Grey. Dual-tone options are reserved for higher variants.

Inside, the Comfortline variant has an all-black cabin with a grey patterned plastic dashboard insert. Brushed aluminium accents appear on the steering wheel, around the analogue dials, and AC vents. The seats are black fabric with grey stitching and adjustable headrests. The front row has a centre armrest, while the rear does not.

Key features include electrically adjustable ORVMs, automatic air conditioning with rear vents, steering-mounted controls, cruise control, all power windows, and analogue dials with a multi-information display (MID). The infotainment system is a 7-inch touchscreen supporting wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, paired with a 6-speaker audio setup.

Safety features comprise six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), brake assist, rear fog lamps, rear defogger, and rear parking sensors. The Taigun holds a 5-star safety rating from Global NCAP. Features like a tyre pressure monitoring system or rear-view camera are available only in higher variants.

Engine, Pricing, and Rivals

The Comfortline variant comes with a 1-litre turbo-petrol engine paired only with a manual transmission. The optional 8-speed automatic is available from the Highline variant. The more powerful 1.5-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine is exclusive to the top-spec GT Plus variant.

The facelifted Volkswagen Taigun is expected to be priced between Rs 11 lakh and Rs 19.2 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete with compact SUVs such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Tata Sierra, Renault Duster, Maruti Victoris, Honda Elevate, and Skoda Kushaq.
