In September 2023, Mini introduced the updated Cooper S and the all-electric MINI Countryman. Bookings started earlier this month, and both models will launch in India Tomorrow, along with the new BMW 5 Series. This will be the first time the Countryman comes as a fully electric vehicle in India. Here’s what to expect.
Exterior
The all-electric Mini Countryman Electric maintains its unique look, even though it uses the same platform as the BMW iX1. The front features the brand’s classic octagonal grille and updated headlights with new daytime running lights. At the rear, the tailgate and taillights have been refreshed with new LED details.
Interior

The cabin of the all-electric MINI Countryman has a simple design similar to the Mini Cooper but features a large 9.5-inch round OLED screen as the main focal point. Instead of a traditional instrument cluster, it has a high-tech heads-up display for a more driver-focused experience.
Powertrain Specs, Battery Packs, And Driving Range
While the exact powertrain options for India are yet to be confirmed, the all-electric MINI Countryman offers two choices abroad. One has a single motor with front-wheel drive, giving 201bhp and 250Nm of torque. The other has dual motors with all-wheel drive, providing 309bhp and 494Nm of torque. Both use a 66.45kWh battery, with ranges of 462km for the single motor and 433km for the dual motor. The exact figures for India might vary.
Price and Competition
The Mini Countryman Electric will be imported as a fully assembled unit. While the petrol Mini Countryman starts at Rs. 48.10 lakh (ex-showroom), the Electric version will cost about Rs. 70 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete with other electric vehicles like the Kia EV6, BMW iX1, Volvo XC40 Recharge, and Hyundai Ioniq 5.
