BMW India has finally entered the premium compact sedan segment with the launch of the all-new 2 Series Gran Coupe in India. The 2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe is priced at Rs 46.90 Lakh (ex-showroom) onwards. The 2025 edition of the 2 Series Gran Coupe is the second generation of the car, and it will only be available in a petrol variant.

The all-new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe comes with two variants, such as the 218 M Sport and the 218 M Sport Pro. The car is locally produced at the BMW Group Plant Chennai and will only be available in a single variant for Indian customers. The first generation of the car has carved its niche among young generation drivers, so the second-generation model will have more sporty characteristics.

BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe: Design and Dimensions

BMW’s latest offering arrives as the second-generation Gran Coupe (F74), expanding both in design and dimensions. The car is now Rs 2.5 lakh more expensive than its previous generation model. Considering its dimensions, the car is 20 mm longer, 15 mm wider, and 15 mm taller. The front fascia of the car offers LED headlights and a black grille badged with 18-inch alloy wheels.

The 2025 edition Gran Coupe now looks more athletic and feels more spacious, delivering on style and substance. The car is based on the UKL2 platform, which was also used in its predecessors. For customers’ convenience, the boot capacity of the car is now increased with the availability of about 430 liters.

Engine and Performance

The second iteration of the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe is powered by a 1.5L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine that generates 156 HP and 230 Nm of torque. The car will be available with a front-wheel-drive drivetrain and equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission as a standard option for customers. With such a refined engine, the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 8.6 seconds. While the top speed is considered, the car is said to have a top speed of about 230 kmph.

Variants and Pricing

The 2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe will come under two different trim levels. The standard is the 218 M Sport, which will be priced at Rs 46.90 lakh (ex-showroom), and the second trim level will be the top variant named 218 M Sport Pro, which costs around Rs 48.90 lakh.

Both models offer four distinctive colors, such as Brooklyn Grey Metallic, Alpine White, Portimao Blue Metallic, and Black Sapphire.
