AUMOVIO India has produced over 10 million Airbag Control Units (ACUs) at its Bengaluru facility. The company announced this milestone on Monday. The plant supplies ACUs to domestic automotive manufacturers and exports to Japan and South Korea.

Production Milestone and Expansion
The Bengaluru facility began ACU production in 2016. Over the past decade, the plant has scaled up its output. The company has shifted from manual assembly to increased automation. Most components for ACU manufacturing are now sourced locally in India. This transition has improved efficiency, consistency, and throughput at the facility.
On the same occasion, AUMOVIO India inaugurated a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) production line. The company also launched an Integrated Safety Control Module (ISCM) at the Bengaluru site. These additions expand the facility’s product portfolio in vehicle safety systems.
Strategic Focus and Market Reach
AUMOVIO India aims to make the Bengaluru plant a hub for automotive safety systems in the Asia-Pacific region. The facility serves both Indian automotive OEMs and export markets, including Japan and South Korea. The company’s focus on automation and localization has helped build a resilient supply chain and improve product quality.

AUMOVIO was spun off from Continental’s former automotive group sector in September 2025. The company is headquartered in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. It employs about 82,000 people at more than 80 locations worldwide. In fiscal year 2025, AUMOVIO reported sales of €18.5 billion.
The Bengaluru facility’s expansion with TPMS and ISCM lines aligns with AUMOVIO’s strategy to strengthen its position in vehicle safety systems. The company continues to invest in automation and localization to support its growth in the APAC region.
