In September 2024, Bajaj Auto Limited saw impressive growth in the 2-wheeler segment, with notable improvements in both the domestic and international markets year over year (YoY) and month over month (MoM). Sales have increased even more as a result of the company's efforts to offer a variety of models, including cutting-edge models like the Pulsar Ethanol Flex Fuel motorcycle.
Bajaj Domestic 2-Wheeler Sales
In September 2024, Bajaj Auto's domestic 2-wheeler sales grew by an impressive 28%, reaching 2,59,333 units, compared to 2,02,510 units sold in September 2023. The Pulsar lineup performed very well as it is in high demand in India. Also they have launched Bajaj Freedom 125 with CNG fuel.
The introduction of the Pulsar Ethanol Flex Fuel motorcycle, capable of running on E100 fuel, has been a standout, showcasing Bajaj's commitment to innovation and environmental sustainability.
Bajaj Exports in 2 Wheelers
Bajaj Auto’s 2-wheeler exports also performed robustly, increasing by 13% YoY to 1,41,156 units in September 2024, compared to 1,25,202 units in the same period last year. This growth highlights the company's increasing presence in global markets, contributing to a total 2-wheeler sales figure of 4,00,489 units in September 2024, up 22% from 3,27,712 units in September 2023.
Month-over-Month Growth
In terms of MoM growth, Bajaj Auto saw a notable rise in total 2-wheeler sales, increasing from 3,97,804 units in August 2024 to 4,00,489 units in September 2024. This steady increase reflects the company’s consistent demand and its ability to maintain sales momentum both domestically and internationally.
Year-to-Date (YTD) 2-Wheeler Sales Growth (April-September 2024)
For the April-September 2024 period, Bajaj Auto saw its domestic 2-wheeler sales grow by 16%, reaching 12,19,298 units, up from 10,48,251 units during the same period in 2023. Exports during this period also rose by 6%, from 7,22,662 units in 2023 to 7,64,827 units in 2024. The total 2-wheeler sales during this six-month period stood at 19,84,125 units, marking a 12% YoY increase over 17,70,913 units sold in 2023.
