Partnership Expands Charger Access
Bolt.Earth, India's largest EV charging network, has partnered with MapmyIndia (MMI) to improve access to its charging infrastructure. Through this partnership, MMI users can directly locate Bolt.Earth's standard Level 2 chargers and DC fast chargers within the MapmyIndia app. This integration expands visibility for charger owners and provides EV drivers with more charging options beyond the Bolt.Earth platform.
The integration uses the Open Charge Point Interface (OCPI) protocol. Bolt.Earth has added approximately 350 Level 2 and Level 3 chargers to the MapmyIndia app through OCPI. The companies are working together with OCPI integration and API sharing to help MapmyIndia platform users locate and access EV charging points more easily.
Supporting India's EV Ecosystem
The expanded discoverability of EV chargers is intended to support India's growing EV ecosystem. The companies state that this partnership will give drivers a more seamless charging experience. MapmyIndia's integration with map and navigation services is expected to extend Bolt.Earth's charger visibility across multiple platforms used by EV drivers in India.
Bolt.Earth operates India's largest electric vehicle charging network, with over 100,000 chargers deployed across more than 2,000 cities. Founded in 2017, Bolt.Earth has grown from building connected IoT solutions to offering a vertically integrated EV ecosystem. Its services span hardware, software, manufacturing, deployment, and support.
The open network supports two-, three-, and four-wheelers with both standard and fast-charging options. The Bolt.Earth mobile app enables scan-pay-charge functionality and allows charger owners to generate passive income. The company manages its network with a proprietary Charger Management System (CMS) and collaborates with various OEMs and ecosystem partners.
