BYD India introduces EV INNOVATE-A-THON for engineering students, featuring a three-stage contest with prizes including an educational visit to BYD's Shenzhen headquarters for winners.

BYD India Launches EV INNOVATE-A-THON for Engineering Students

BYD India has put forward a new competition called EV INNOVATE-A-THON, collaborating with the Automotive Skill Development Council (ASDC). The BYD EV INNOVATE-A-THON aims to stimulate creativity and eco-friendly solutions among engineering students across India. The BYD EV INNOVATE-A-THON, available to selected educational institutions, will guide participants through a three-phase process to develop groundbreaking ideas in the electric vehicle sector, concluding with the creation and showcase of prototypes.

The EV INNOVATE-A-THON consists of:

  • An initial web-based knowledge assessment
  • A virtual design phase
  • A tangible prototype development and marketing pitch stage

The BYD EV INNOVATE-A-THON is designed to enhance abilities, spark innovation, and encourage collaboration in the EV industry. Winning teams will receive substantial rewards, with the top performers earning a week-long educational trip to BYD's main facility in Shenzhen, China. This prize includes interactions with BYD's research team and monetary support to bring their sustainable tech concepts to life. Teams in second and third place will win cash and trophies.

Mr. Rajeev Chauhan, Head of Electric Passenger Vehicles (EPV) Business, BYD India, said - "We are excited to introduce the BYD EV Innovate-A-Thon in India, a nation rich with young visionaries crafting solutions for an improved future. The initiative's name embodies our company's commitment to technological advancement for societal betterment."

This contest aligns with the increasing emphasis on electric transportation in India and worldwide. By involving young engineering talent, the program seeks to generate fresh perspectives on EV industry challenges. It also offers students hands-on experience in developing and presenting innovative ideas, potentially driving progress in sustainable transport technology.

Participants in this program will gain valuable exposure to the EV sector, enhance their problem-solving capabilities, and possibly launch their careers in this dynamic field.
