Honda Cars India has recorded a sales decline of 5% in June 2024 selling 4,804 units as against 5,080 units in June 2023. However, this decline was counterbalanced by a remarkable surge in exports. The Japanese carmaker shipped 2,112 units to the global markets in the same month the year before, and it went up to 4,972 units last month, increasing the exports volume to more than double.
This contrast in between the domestic and export sales points to a possible change in Honda's business approach—possibly putting more of a focus on international sales.
The Elevate, since its September 2023 launch, has emerged as the top performer of Honda Cars India. The company's sales have increased profoundly as a result of this compact SUV's great performance in recent months. Sales data indicates a steady increase in 2024: 1,731 units in April, 1,553 units in May, and an estimate of 5,415 units in June. Elevate's increasing popularity is demonstrated by this sharp increase in June. With its reasonable price and spacious interior, the Elevate has helped Honda gain market share in the popular SUV sector, neutralizing other models' slower sales and making a major contribution to Honda's overall performance in India.
