Citroen has released a teaser for the eC3 facelift, signaling its upcoming launch in India. This update follows nearly a year after the refreshed C3 was introduced. The French automaker plans to apply similar updates to the electric eC3, focusing on minor exterior changes and new features while retaining the existing mechanical setup.

  • Citroen teases eC3 facelift with minor styling and feature updates for India
  • No mechanical changes expected with the 29.2 kWh battery and 57 HP electric motor retained
  • Facelift may add projector LED headlamps, 360-degree camera, and six airbags in higher trims
  • Current eC3 pricing ranges from Rs 11.99 lakh to Rs 13.26 lakh ex showroom

The Citroen eC3 facelift will adopt the ‘X’ suffix, aligning with the naming of its internal combustion-engine counterpart. The exterior design will closely resemble the updated C3, featuring projector LED headlamps and front LED fog lamps. Other expected changes include redesigned bumpers, new wheel designs, and additional color options, available in both single-tone and dual-tone finishes. The overall dimensions of the eC3 will remain unchanged, as this is a minor facelift.

Inside, Citroen may introduce the 7-inch digital driver’s display from the updated C3. Higher trims could offer advanced features such as a 360-degree camera system, an auto-dimming inner rearview mirror, and six airbags. The interior layout is expected to remain largely the same, with distinctive AC vents, a dimpled dashboard pattern, and fabric-upholstered seats. The toggle switch for drive direction and the 10.2-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are likely to be retained. Improved fit and finish, as seen in the updated C3, may also be introduced in the facelifted eC3.

Powertrain and Performance

The upcoming 2026 Citroen eC3 facelift is not expected to receive mechanical changes. It will likely continue with the 29.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and a single front-mounted electric motor. This motor produces 57 HP and 143 Nm of torque, allowing the eC3 to reach a top speed of 107 kph. The electric vehicle will continue to offer a 3.3 kW AC charger and a claimed range of 246 km on a single charge.

The current eC3 is available in four trim levels, with prices ranging from Rs 11.99 lakh to Rs 13.26 lakh (ex-showroom). The facelifted model is expected to maintain this pricing structure. The Citroen eC3 facelift will compete with rivals such as the Tata Tiago EV and MG Comet in the Indian market.

Market Position and Competition

The Citroen eC3 facelift aims to strengthen the brand’s presence in the growing electric hatchback segment. By introducing updated features and minor styling changes, Citroen seeks to attract buyers looking for modern electric vehicles. The eC3 will continue to compete directly with established models like the Tata Tiago EV and MG Comet, both of which are popular choices in the segment.

CarBike 360 Says

With the upcoming facelift, the Citroen eC3 appears set to address key gaps while enhancing its appeal in India’s growing EV segment. Subtle design revisions, feature additions, and possible tech upgrades could make it a more competitive offering. As Citroen strengthens its electric portfolio, the updated eC3 will play a crucial role in expanding its footprint in the market.
