As the nation gears up to witness the Beating Retreat ceremony, marking the official conclusion of Republic Day festivities, the Delhi Traffic Police has issued a comprehensive advisory detailing road diversions, closures, and alterations in parking arrangements. The traffic restrictions will be enforced on January 29, 2024, between 2 pm and 9.30 pm to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and prevent congestion around the venue.

Traffic Restrictions and Diversions

- Vijay Chowk Closure: General traffic access to Vijay Chowk will be restricted between 2 pm and 9.30 pm.
- Rafi Marg Restrictions: Traffic restrictions will be imposed on Rafi Marg between R/A Surehet Masjid and R/A Krishi Bhawan.
- Rasina Road Closure: Rasina Road will be closed from R/A Krishi Bhawan towards Vijay Chowk.
- Kartavyapath Limitations: Kartavyapath between Vijay Chowk and the "C" Hexagon will experience traffic restrictions.
- Other Affected Routes: Beyond R/A Dara Shikoh Road, R/A Krishna Menon Marg, and R/A Sunehri Masjid towards Vijay Chowk will also face traffic restrictions.
Alternate Routes
Commuters are advised to take alternate routes to avoid inconvenience:
- Ring Road
- Ridge Road
- Aurobindo Marg
- Madarsa T-Point
- Safdarjung Road
- Kamal Ataturk Marg
- Rani Jhansi Road
- Minto Road And more...
DTC Bus Diversions
- DTC buses will be diverted around the main venue and India Gate.
- Connaught Place bound buses will take the Mandir Marg, Kali Ban Marg, GPO, and Baba Kharak Singh Marg route.
- Buses from Connaught Place via Kasturba Gandhi Marg towards India Gate will move through Minto Road, DDU Marg, IP Flyover, Ring Road, and Sarai Kale Khan.
- Connaught Place bound buses from Mandi House and Feroz Shah Road will terminate their journey at the Shiva Stadium, returning through Kasturba Gandhi Marg or Barakhamba Road.
Parking Arrangements
Parking for spectators wanting to witness the illumination at Vijay Chowk will be available behind the water channels between Rafi Marg and the "C" Hexagon after 7 pm.
