Suzuki Jimny Heritage Edition: The Japanese automaker has recently unveiled the 5-door Jimny Heritage Edition in the Australian market. Suzuki Jimny is a popular 4X4 SUV in the international markets, however, its presence is limited to some countries. In the recent development, the already available 5-door Jimny which Maruti Suzuki sells in India as Jimny XL has got some cosmetic upgrades to be the Heritage Edition in Australia. It is worth noting that the new Jimny Edition is limited to 500 units for now. Check out more details of the Jimny Heritage Edition below.
Jimny Heritage Edition: Design
The automaker first unveiled the Heritage Edition for the 3-door version in Australia back in March 2023. The SUV gets red and orange decals and red mud flap which look similar to the 3-Door Jimny Heritage Edition. Apart from this, the Jimny Heritage logo is there to provide the new edition with a unique appearance. Talking about the paint options, the Suzuki Jimny Heritage Edition is available in 5 colours- black, grey, ivory, white and green.
Jimny Heritage Edition: Features
Despite being a 4X4 rugged offering, the Jimny comes loaded with features such as a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. Some other functional comforts include power windows, LED headlights, automatic Air conditioning and cruise control.
In terms of safety. The Jimny gets six airbags, electronic stability control, rearview parking camera and traction control. The Australia-spec Jimny also gets some ADAS features such as auto-emergency braking, high beam assist and lane departure.
Jimny Heritage Edition: Powertrain
The Australia spec Jimny Heritage gets the same 1.5 litre NA petrol engine as the Jimny XL currently on sale in India. This powerhouse generates a maximum power of 105 PS and a peak torque of 134 Nm. Transmission duties are handled by a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic, with a 4X4 configuration.
CarBike360 Says
The limited-edition Jimny Heritage Edition, with its nostalgic design elements and robust features, is a stylish yet functional addition to Suzuki's lineup in Australia. Its blend of modern technology and classic aesthetics, coupled with the proven 1.5L engine, makes it an appealing choice for off-road enthusiasts. However, its exclusivity at just 500 units may leave many potential buyers disappointed.
