Engine and Performance

The Ducati Desmo450 MX is powered by a 449.6cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. This engine produces 62.6bhp and 53.5Nm of torque. Ducati uses its signature Desmodromic valve system in this engine, which is uncommon in motocross motorcycles. The engine itself weighs only 26.8kg, contributing to the bike's low overall weight of 104.8kg without fuel. This results in a strong power-to-weight ratio, which is important for motocross performance.

Chassis, Suspension, and Brakes

The Desmo450 MX features a lightweight frame that weighs 8.9kg. The frame uses fewer components to improve rigidity and handling. The motorcycle is equipped with fully adjustable Showa suspension, offering 310mm of travel at the front and 301mm at the rear. The bike rides on 21-inch front and 19-inch rear wheels, fitted with Pirelli Scorpion MX32 tyres for enhanced off-road grip. Braking is managed by Brembo calipers with petal-type discs, providing reliable stopping power on rough terrain.

Technology and Features

The Desmo450 MX comes with a 5-speed gearbox and an upshift-only quick shifter. The motorcycle also offers several electronic aids, including ride modes, traction control, launch control, and engine brake control. Riders can customize ride modes and settings using the Ducati X-Link mobile app, which requires a separate WiFi module. Both the app and module are sold separately.

Optional accessories are available for the Desmo450 MX. These include a titanium exhaust priced at Rs. 2.77 lakh. The total cost of all optional accessories exceeds Rs. 3 lakh.
