Design and Features

The Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono Nera comes equipped with homologated Termignoni steel silencers finished in black with red detailing. Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) is standard, enabling clutchless upshifts and downshifts. This feature enhances the aggressive riding experience, making gear changes quicker and more fluid.
The motorcycle uses a 659cc Superquadro Mono single-cylinder engine, derived from the twin-cylinder unit of the 1299 Panigale. Key engine features include a 116 mm bore piston, combustion chamber design, titanium intake valves, steel exhaust valves, and desmodromic valve timing. Ducati states the engine produces 77.5 HP and revs up to 10,250 rpm, making it one of the most extreme single-cylinder engines available for road use.
Performance and Technology

The Hypermotard 698 Mono Nera weighs 151 kg ready to ride without fuel. The lightness is achieved through a trellis frame with variable sections and thicknesses, cast wheels, and brake discs with aluminum flanges. The motorcycle features a double-sided swingarm connected to a fully adjustable rear shock absorber through a progressive linkage.

The electronics package includes ABS Cornering, Ducati Traction Control, Ducati Wheelie Control, Engine Brake Control, Ducati Power Launch, and Ducati Quick Shift up and down. The ABS system offers settings for Supermoto-style riding on track, including a slide-by-brake function. Ducati also notes that fitting the racing Termignoni exhaust, designed for track use only, adds seven horsepower and activates wheelie assist.
