Hero, the largest two-wheeler manufacturer in India, has uncovered the Destini 125, a new scooter in its 125cc lineup. According to the latest reports, Hero MotoCrop revealed this scooter back in September 2024 but preparing to launch this December. The company shared the details and specifications of this scooter but pricing is yet to be revealed until now. However, according to the estimations, the price of the Destini 125 will start around Rs 90,000 (ex-showroom).
What is New in the Destini 125?
Compared to its predecessor, the new Destini 125 has an all-new modern retro-aesthetic design. With a sleeker silhouette, sharp lines in the bodywork, and an H-shaped LED DRL(Daytime Running Light), this scooter looks more premium than its older version. Hero added three variants in the Destini 125, namely VX, ZX, and ZX+, with differences in color options and features.
Engine and Specifications
Mechanically, the Destini 125 retains its 124.6cc air-cooled, single-cylinder, 4 Stroke, SI engine, which produces 9.12 PS at 7000 rpm of power and 10.4 Nm at 5500 rpm of torque. However, significant updates have been made to its underpinnings. The ZX and ZX+ variants will come with a front disc brake, while the VX variant is equipped with a drum brake. Additionally, the new model has larger 12-inch alloy wheels, replacing the previous generation's 10-inch wheels. Not only that, the wheelbase has also been extended from 1245 mm to 1302 mm for better stability.
Features and Technology
The VX variant includes a semi-digital instrument cluster, while the ZX and ZX+ variants are equipped with an LCD screen with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and various standard readouts like speedometer and fuel gauge. Other notable features include an LED projector headlight, LED taillight, self-canceling turn indicators, and a USB charging port located in the front storage compartment. The ZX and ZX+ variants also come with a pillion backrest and an external fuel filler cap.
Competitors
Hero scooters and motorcycles cover more than 30% of the Indian two-wheeler market but still, the new Destini will fight against other popular scooters like the Honda Activa 125, TVS Jupiter 125, and Suzuki Access 125.
