Hero MotoCorp’s Vida to Launch Two New Electric Scooters on July 1
Hero didn’t reveal much information about these electric scooters when making the announcement. However, the industry reports claim that Vida is working on a cost-effective EV platform named ACPD.
Hero MotoCorp is one of the largest two-wheeler brands in India, and it is now working to strengthen its position in the electric scooter market with its electric scooter brand, Vida. Recently, the brand announced that Vida will launch two new electric scooters on July 1. With the announcement about the upcoming Vida electric two-wheelers, Hero MotoCorp aims to diversify its electric scooter lineup and offer more affordable options to Indian customers.
Hero didn’t reveal much information about these electric scooters when making the announcement. However, the industry reports claim that Vida is working on a cost-effective EV platform named ACPD. This platform will underpin upcoming Vida electric scooters and help the two-wheeler brand keep prices affordable, possibly around the entry-level ICE-powered scooters in India. Also, the upcoming Vida scooters will have different designs and styling than existing models like the V2 and Z series (recently unveiled).
Currently, Vida sells three models in India, including the Vida V2 Lite, Vida V2 Plus, and Vida V2 Pro. All these Vida electric scooters are priced from Rs 74,000 to Rs 1.15 lakh, ex-showroom. Additionally, Vida is working to expand its dealership network in India. The brand has over 200 touchpoints, including 180 dealerships across 116 cities.
Hero reported exceptional growth in its electric two-wheeler sales in FY2025. It reported 175% YoY growth, with the sales of 48,673 units in FY25, compared to 17,720 units in FY24. Hero is possibly aiming to increase production capacity from 7,000 to 15,000 electric scooters per month. The two-wheeler brand may announce this after launching these two upcoming Vida electric scooters.
