Honda ZR-V flagship SUV India unveil with strong hybrid power
The Honda ZR-V debuts in India as a premium hybrid SUV combining performance, efficiency, and modern features for urban buyers.

Honda Cars India has unveiled its flagship SUV, the ZR-V, for the Indian market. The company also introduced the facelifted Honda City at the same event. The ZR-V, a global model, will launch in India in the coming weeks. It will arrive as a completely built unit (CBU) and will be available with a single strong hybrid powertrain option.

Powertrain and Performance
The Honda ZR-V features a 2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with a dual motor setup. This strong-hybrid system produces a combined output of 184 PS and 315 Nm of torque. The SUV uses a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and includes self-charging battery technology. Honda claims the ZR-V can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under 8 seconds.
The ZR-V offers three driving modes: Economy, Normal, and Sport. The company reports an ARAI-tested fuel efficiency of 22.80 kmpl. With a 57-litre fuel tank, the SUV can travel over 1,200 km on a single tank of petrol, according to Honda's estimates.
Features and Safety

The Honda ZR-V comes equipped with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also features a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12-speaker Bose surround sound system. Additional amenities include ambient lighting, an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a 4-way power-adjustable co-passenger seat, a powered tailgate, a wireless phone charger, and dual-zone climate control.
For safety, the ZR-V offers a 360-degree camera system with blind spot monitoring and eight airbags. It includes Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), an Acoustic Vehicle Alert System (AVAS), rain-sensing wipers, hill hold assist, hill descent control, and both front and rear parking sensors.
Market Position and Competition
The Honda ZR-V is expected to be priced at Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete with established rivals such as the Skoda Kodiaq, Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line, and Jeep Meridian in the Indian SUV segment.
