Hyundai launched the facelifted Exter SUV earlier this year, with prices starting from Rs 5.80 lakh (ex-showroom). The updated model features refreshed styling, new features, and a revised variant lineup. On-road prices differ across major cities due to additional charges and taxes.
Key Highlights

On-Road Prices in Major Cities
The on-road price includes the ex-showroom price, road tax, registration charges, insurance, and other fees. For the Hyundai Exter, all variants are priced below Rs 10 lakh, so they do not attract the 1% Tax Collected at Source (TCS). Insurance premiums may vary based on several factors, so buyers should consult local dealers for precise quotes.
In New Delhi, the Exter's on-road price ranges from Rs 6.42 lakh to Rs 10.58 lakh. In Mumbai, the price is higher, ranging from Rs 6.87 lakh to Rs 11.03 lakh. Bengaluru has the highest on-road prices for the Exter, from Rs 7.11 lakh to Rs 11.43 lakh. In Chennai, the on-road price falls between Rs 6.99 lakh and Rs 11.25 lakh. In Kolkata, the Exter costs between Rs 6.79 lakh and Rs 10.91 lakh, including lifetime road tax for 15 years. West Bengal also offers a 5-year road tax payment option, which can reduce the total cost.
These prices are indicative and may change due to insurance, municipal taxes, accessories, and discounts. Buyers should check with their local Hyundai dealership for the most accurate on-road pricing.
Design, Features, and Specifications

The facelifted Hyundai Exter receives a black radiator grille, H-shaped daytime running lamps, and silver bumper accents. The side profile maintains its boxy shape but now includes new 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. At the rear, the Exter features an upright tailgate, LED taillamps, a roof spoiler, and a faux diffuser.
Interior features include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, semi-digital instrument cluster, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay (via adapter), cruise control, electric sunroof, 4-speaker sound system, automatic climate control, and auto headlamps.
Safety equipment comprises 6 airbags, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring system, rear parking sensors, rear view camera, and hill start assist.
The Exter is powered by a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, available with manual and automated manual transmissions. A factory-fitted bi-fuel CNG kit is also offered. The Exter competes with the Tata Punch and Citroen C3, and can also be considered as an alternative to the Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS hatchback, which shares its platform.
