Hyundai Crosses 9 Million Domestic Sales Milestone
Coming to Hyundai’s significant achievement, Hyundai has crossed past 9 million units in cumulative domestic sales since it began Indian operations nearly 30 years ago.
Mr Tarun Garg, Whole-time Director and COO of HMIL, said: “As we enter the 30th year of our operations in India on 6th May 2025, we are proud of our commitment to our country, which has led us to achieve the milestone of 9 million unit sales in the Indian market since our inception in 1996. While the domestic market continues to face headwinds on account of various macroeconomic factors, we continue to champion ‘Make in India, Made for the World’, emphasising HMIL’s strong focus on exports.”
The Talegaon Plant: Hyundai’s Next Growth Catalyst
As Hyundai looks ahead, the company is preparing to launch its Talegaon manufacturing facility, acquired from General Motors. The plant is expected to commence operations in Q4 2025, enabling expanded production, new product pipelines, and enhanced export capacity.
Conclusion
Despite short-term domestic pressure, Hyundai’s milestone achievement and growing exports showcase its resilience and long-term commitment to the Indian market. As HMIL enters its 30th year of operations, the brand is poised to evolve with the market, delivering innovation, reliability, and value to its customers, both in India and abroad.
