Maruti Suzuki Brezza set for major upgrade with turbo petrol engine in July 2026
Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to refresh the Brezza with a turbo petrol engine, promising improved performance, better driving dynamics, and enhanced appeal in the compact SUV segment.

Maruti Suzuki will launch a significant update to the Brezza compact SUV on July 23, 2026. The refreshed model will feature a new turbo-petrol engine, updated styling, and enhanced features. This marks the first time the Brezza will offer a turbo-petrol option, addressing a key gap in its segment.
Key Highlights
- Maruti Suzuki Brezza update launches July 23, 2026, with major changes.
- New 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine expected with 100 HP and 148 Nm torque.
- Cosmetic updates include new bumpers, lighting, and alloy wheel design.
- Features may include a 10.1-inch infotainment screen and level 2 ADAS.
- Price is likely to see a slight increase over the current Rs 8.26-12.86 lakh range.
Design and Feature Enhancements

The updated 2026 Maruti Suzuki Brezza will likely have minor cosmetic changes. Expected updates include redesigned bumpers and lighting elements. The LED tail lamps may be connected by a segmented bar, similar to the larger Victoris SUV. Spy images have shown a new 4-spoke alloy wheel design, indicating new rim options for the model.
Inside, the cabin layout will remain mostly unchanged. However, new trim materials and color schemes are anticipated. Maruti Suzuki could add several new features, such as a 10.1-inch infotainment screen from the Victoris, a powered driver seat, front seat ventilation, and ambient lighting. Safety features may include a level 2 ADAS system and front parking sensors, as observed on test vehicles.
Engine and Performance Upgrades
The most notable change is the introduction of a turbo-petrol engine. Maruti Suzuki is expected to use the 1.0-liter turbo-petrol unit currently found in the Fronx. This engine produces 100 HP and 148 Nm of torque in the Fronx. The updated Brezza may also receive a 6-speed manual gearbox, as seen in test mules spotted in February 2026.
The new engine will make the Brezza eligible for sub-4m tax benefits, potentially lowering its price. Currently, the Brezza is the only SUV in its segment without a turbo-petrol engine. Maruti Suzuki may also offer this engine with a CNG kit, following its usual practice.
Pricing and Market Position
The updated Brezza is expected to carry a slight premium over the current model, which is priced between Rs 8.26 lakh and Rs 12.86 lakh. The SUV will continue to compete with the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Skoda Kushaq, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Kia Sonet, and Syros.
With these updates, Maruti Suzuki aims to strengthen the Brezza's position in the compact SUV market. The addition of a turbo-petrol engine and new features will address key customer demands and align the Brezza with its competitors.

CarBike 360 Says
With the upcoming turbo petrol engine, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza is set to become more competitive in the compact SUV segment. The update is expected to deliver better performance and driving excitement while retaining its practicality. As rivals continue to evolve, this upgrade could help Brezza strengthen its position among Indian buyers looking for a balanced urban SUV.
