Hyundai India Sales March 2026: Creta Leads, Venue and Aura Show Growth
Hyundai Motor India sold 55,064 vehicles in March 2026, led by Creta, Venue, and Aura. The company saw 6.3% year-on-year growth and is preparing to launch new models, including an electric SUV and next-gen i20.

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) secured the fourth position among automakers in India for March 2026. The company achieved a 12.3% market share, selling 55,064 passenger vehicles. This marks a 6.3% year-on-year increase from 51,820 units in March 2025. Month-on-month sales also rose by 5.1% compared to 52,407 units in February 2026.

Top Performing Hyundai Models
The Hyundai Creta led the lineup with 17,838 units sold in March 2026. Despite being the top seller, Creta's sales declined by 1% both year-on-year and month-on-month. The Venue followed with 11,147 units, showing a 7% increase from 10,441 units in March 2025. Venue's month-on-month sales also improved by 6% from 10,494 units in February 2026. The Venue recently gained attention for safety, scoring 31.15 out of 32 in the latest Bharat NCAP crash test, making it the safest ICE SUV in the sub-4 meter segment.
The Aura sedan recorded 6,663 unit sales, a 31% year-on-year growth, though month-on-month sales dipped by 1% from 6,733 units. The Exter micro SUV, updated recently, sold 6,478 units. This represents a 10% year-on-year and a significant 54% month-on-month increase, indicating strong buyer interest.
Other Model Performance and Future Plans

The i20 hatchback posted 5,614 units in March 2026, up 26% from 4,452 units in March 2025. However, i20 sales dropped by 4% compared to 5,852 units in February 2026. The Grand i10 NIOS saw a marginal 1% year-on-year rise to 5,032 units, but month-on-month sales declined by 10% from 5,589 units.
The recently updated Verna sedan achieved 1,399 unit sales, a 3% year-on-year increase. Verna saw a notable 102% month-on-month jump from 694 units in February 2026. The Alcazar SUV experienced a 38% year-on-year and 2% month-on-month decline, with 893 units sold in March 2026.
Hyundai launched the new Exter and Verna last month and plans to introduce several new models soon. The pipeline includes a new-generation i20, an i20-based crossover, an all-new India-made electric SUV, the next-generation Creta, a new MPV, and a lifestyle off-roader to compete with the Thar. These initiatives aim to strengthen Hyundai’s position in both ICE and EV segments in India.
