Kia India launched the EV6 electric car in India and it will cost around Rs 59.95 lakh (ex-showroom). The car comes out with the E-GMP architecture that supports both Kia EV6 and Ioniq 5.

Kia EV6 Launched: Price, Specs and More

Kia India unveiled the EV6 electric vehicle today in India. It starts at Rs 59.95 lakh ex-showroom. The EV6 will be imported as a fully assembled vehicle via the CBU route. This year, only 100 units of the mid-size electric crossover would be sold in India.

Despite this, Kia has received approximately 350 orders. Kia India is putting the finishing touches on the additional orders. The EV6 will come in two versions: GT Line and GT Line AWD. Ex-showroom, the prices are Rs 59.95 lakh and Rs 64.95 lakh. Deliveries will begin in September 2022. Bookings are available for Rs 3 lakh, with a cancellation fee of Rs 50,000.
The E-GMP (Electric-Global Modular Platform) architecture supports both the Kia EV6 and the Hyundai Ioniq 5.

It will only be available in India with a single 77.4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack with a maximum range of 528 kilometers based on the WLTP test. The battery pack can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in 18 minutes using a 350 kW fast charger. A 50kW rapid charger, on the other hand, takes 73 minutes to achieve the same result. The battery has ultra-fast charging capabilities, allowing it to add up to 100 kilometers of range in just 4.5 minutes. It will be offered in two trim levels: GT Line and GT Line AWD.

Kia EV6 Launched: Price, Specs and More

The former will be equipped with a single rear-wheel-drive powertrain that produces 225 horsepower and 350 Nm of peak torque. The latter, on the other hand, is equipped with a dual-motor arrangement that drives all four wheels and produces 321 horsepower and 605 Nm of torque.

The Kia EV6 claims to go from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in just 3.5 seconds. The specifications of the EV6 GT Line are 4,695mm in length, 1,890mm in width, and 1,550mm in height, with a 2,900mm wheelbase. Runway Red, Aurora Black Pearl, Snow White Pearl, Yacht Blue, and Moonscape are among the five paint colors available for the electric crossover.

The EV6 is marketed as a premium electric crossover, thus it comes with all the bells and whistles. Dual 12.3-inch curved displays for the instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment will be standard across both models, as will full LED lighting, vented and powered front seats, dual-zone automatic temperature control, a wireless smartphone charging, and more. Additional creature pleasures include an Augmented Reality heads-up display, a Meridian sound system with 14 speakers, automated flush-fitting door handles, and a motorised tailgate on the top-spec GT-Line AWD variant. Eight airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, ABS and Brake Assist, ESC, Hill-start Assist Control, and Multi Collision Brake Assist are among the many safety features available on the EV6.

Aside from conventional safety features, Kia offers a variety of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) features such as Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Keep Assist, Safe Exit Assist, Lane Follow Assist, Blind-spot Detection, and more.
