Kia India and TPL Partnership Details

The Tennis Premier League operates under the All India Tennis Association and has completed seven seasons. The league has featured well-known ambassadors such as Leander Paes and Sania Mirza. TPL matches are streamed on Jio Hotstar, increasing the sport’s visibility.

Kia’s involvement builds on its established association with international tennis. The partnership aims to support TPL’s efforts to expand tennis through league operations, digital engagement, and talent development initiatives.

Atul Sood, Senior Vice President – Sales and Marketing at Kia India, stated that the company believes sports can inspire aspirations and foster cultural connections. He noted that tennis aligns with Kia’s brand due to its youthful energy and global appeal. Sood emphasized that the partnership will support greater participation and talent development in Indian tennis through TPL’s grassroots ecosystem.

The partnership will strengthen TPL’s grassroots initiatives, including the “Race to Gold Scholarship” program. Over the past two years, this program has supported more than 80 young tennis players. With Kia India’s support, TPL aims to expand this number and reach over 120 additional athletes in the coming years.

Kunal Thakkur, co-founder of the Tennis Premier League, said the partnership with Kia India will help scale the league’s grassroots initiatives and strengthen the broader tennis ecosystem. Leander Paes, a former ambassador, highlighted the importance of long-term partnerships for the continued development of Indian tennis at both grassroots and professional levels.

This agreement marks a significant step for both Kia India and the Tennis Premier League. It is expected to enhance the league’s reach and impact, particularly in supporting young athletes and increasing tennis participation across India.
