Kia India, at its store in Gurugram, has announced that it will install India's quickest EV charger for passenger vehicles. This DC fast charger at Dhingra Kia has a 150 kWh capacity, and the project is meant to give all EV owners access to charging options. With 150kWh of power, this rapid charger can charge your device from 10% to 80% in 42 minutes (may vary depending on the model). Customers can access charging at the Gurgaon dealership by paying for usage.
Myung-sik Sohn, Chief Sales Officer at Kia India, gave a speech at the event and stated, "We started with the objective to make EV ownership aspirational and debuted our best EV in the world, the Kia EV6, in India earlier this year. As we continue to advance India's EV growth story, we are now immensely thrilled to officially open the nation's first DC fast charger for passenger cars with a 150 kWh charging capacity.

He further added, “At Kia India, we continuously strive to deliver a superior customer experience, and we are confident that these fast-charging options will eliminate the range anxiety and long charging times that EV owners currently endure. We have started the process of giving all of our EV dealerships in the nation an unmatched EV experience, and we will be able to meet the charging needs of EVs from other OEMs as well. By August 2022, we plan to deploy a total of 15 of these chargers across 12 cities. We are optimistic that these modest efforts will have a significant impact on the country's EV adoption.”
The action was taken just one month after Kia India introduced the Kia EV6, the company's first entirely electric vehicle, to the Indian market. The Kia EV6 has an all-electric range of 528 kilometers and is based on the Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) platform. As part of its EV strategy, Kia will introduce its India-focused EV by 2025 as part of its efforts to provide sustainable mobility solutions.
