Kia India has initiated a voluntary recall for its popular Seltos SUV in the Indian market. The recall affects 4,358 units of the 1.5-litre NA petrol Seltos equipped with CVT transmission. The specific models were manufactured between February 28 and July 13, 2023. The reason behind the recall is to address a potential error in the electronic oil pump controller, which has the potential to impact the performance of the SUV, particularly in the specified transmission variant.
Free Replacement for Affected Units
Kia will proactively reach out to the owners of the affected Seltos units and provide a free replacement for the faulty part. The company aims to ensure the safety and optimal performance of the recalled vehicles.
Seltos Pricing and Variants
The Seltos, positioned as a direct competitor to the Hyundai Creta, is available in seven variants: HTE, HTK, HTK Plus, HTX, HTX Plus, GTX Plus, and X-Line. These variants cover both petrol and diesel powertrain options. The SUV's prices range from Rs. 10.90 lakh to Rs. 20.30 lakh (ex-showroom).

Facelifted Seltos Hits Milestone
In a separate development, the recently facelifted Kia Seltos has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing the one lakh booking mark in India. Launched in July 2023, the SUV has been consistently securing an average monthly booking of 13,500 units. Notably, 80 percent of the buyers opt for the top-spec variants, showcasing the popularity of the feature-rich model in the Indian market.
