Kia Unveils the EV9 Electric SUV with Level 3 ADAS and a Range of 541km

Kia has disclosed the new EV in its portfolio, a three-row flagship SUV called the EV9 which is fully loaded with tech and the company is aiming to reach annual sales of 1.2 million battery EV by 2023 by adding this product in its line-up.

The price of EV9 has not been disclosed by the automaker but it revealed numerous details about the SUV. The car will be available for booking in the second half of 2023 in the selected global market. Kia EV9 Interior

New Kia EV9 Interior

The interior of Kia EV9 comes with a curved digital screen which can be extended from the driver seat across the center point.

The Kia EV9 offers various interior options, including a choice between a seven-seater or six-seater configuration with different second-row seat options. A unique feature of the "swivel" second-row seats is the ability to pivot 180 degrees, allowing passengers to face each other during charging. The SUV also has charging points and cup holders in the third row.

ADAS Feature

Kia is aiming to include an advanced driver assistance system in the Kia EV9 GT-line that enables unsupervised hands-free driving on highways in specific regions. This system, called the highway driving pilot, offers Level 3 automated driving, which could potentially allow the driver to be hands-free and not have to keep their eyes on the road in certain circumstances.

The EV9 will make its first physical appearance later this month at the Seoul Mobility Show 2023. It will then be displayed at this year's New York International Auto Show, which takes place in early April.

Ho-sung Song, CEO of Kia, said in a livestream, "In many ways we consider the Kia EV9 to be the new flagship for our brand. While the Kia EV6 played an important role in repositioning the Kia brand following the launch in 2021, the Kia EV9 moves us further forward.”
