The 2027 Freeride E delivers 25.5 HP, an increase over previous versions. The electric motor generates 37 Nm of torque, providing immediate power delivery. KTM includes three riding modes: Eco, Normal, and Sport. Riders can also select from three levels of energy regeneration to balance response and range. The top speed reaches 95 kmph, suitable for off-road use.

The 29 kg lithium-ion battery can be swapped, reducing downtime between rides. The 5.5 kWh capacity marks a slight improvement over earlier models. Charging from zero to 100 percent takes eight hours with a 660W charger. Using a 3.3kW charger, the battery charges in 1.5 hours. The battery is rated for more than 1,000 cycles before dropping to 80 percent efficiency, addressing concerns about long-term durability.

Design, Weight, and Usability

The 2027 Freeride E weighs 112 kg, making it lighter than its predecessor. This lower weight improves balance at low speeds and boosts rider confidence on rough terrain. It also makes the motorcycle easier to manage, especially for new riders. The frame uses chromium-molybdenum steel, integrating both the motor and battery for structural strength.

Suspension comes from WP, featuring XACT and XPLOR components for improved off-road handling. The motorcycle rides on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear aluminium wheels. Braking is managed by Braketec brakes, while Michelin Enduro Medium tyres provide traction on varied surfaces.

Market Position and Usability

The Freeride E targets riders seeking a quiet, low-emission, and robust off-road motorcycle. It eliminates much of the noise, heat, and maintenance associated with traditional petrol-powered trail bikes. The swappable battery and quick charging options enhance convenience for frequent riders. With Bajaj’s ownership, the model could become a strong contender in markets like India.

CarBike 360 Says

With the 2027 Freeride E, KTM is clearly sharpening its focus on practical, trail-ready electric performance rather than just headline figures. The 25.5 HP motor, 5.5 kWh swappable battery, and off-road-friendly chassis combine to make it a compelling option for early EV adopters and weekend trail riders alike, signalling how serious KTM is about its electric future.
