Lamborghini introduces the new Urus SE, an updated version of its popular SUV, in India on the 9th of August, 2024. This launch follows its initial debut in the United States at the Lamborghini Lounge in New York City. The Urus SE represents a significant model evolution, featuring a new hybrid powertrain and exterior and interior design updates. The Lamborghini Urus SE Hybrid aspires to enhance performance while embracing electrification, marking a new chapter for the Italian automaker in the luxury SUV segment.
The Lamborghini Urus SE offers impressive performance figures, powered by a hybrid system that combines a twin-turbo 3996 cc V8 engine with an electric motor. Fueled by a 25.9 kWh lithium-ion battery, this powertrain delivers a total output of 778 bhp and 800 Nm of torque. Power is delivered to all four wheels through an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Lamborghini claims the Urus SE can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 312 km/h. The vehicle can operate in an electric-only mode for up to 60 kilometres.
Exterior updates of the Lamborghini Urus SE include:
- New front bumper and grille
- Slightly extended bonnet
- Slimmer headlamp units with Matrix LED technology
- Updated rear diffuser and tail-lamp design
- Standard 21-inch wheels with Pirelli P Zero tyres
Talking about the interior, the Urus SE features redesigned AC vents, new materials, and updated panel and dashboard coverings. It also incorporates a new 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, adapted from the Revuelto, offering improved responsiveness and a built-in telemetry system.
The Urus SE joins the existing Urus S and Urus Performante in the Indian market. The new SE model is priced at Rs 4.57 crore (ex-showroom), sitting at the top of the Urus range whereas the current Urus range starts at ₹4.18 crore (ex-showroom). The new Urus SE Hybrid competes with high-end SUVs like the all-electric Lotus Eletre, Porsche Cayenne GTS, Aston Martin DBX, and BMW XM.
