LG Energy Solution continues to lead the e-mobility sector by introducing its latest cylindrical battery solutions for e-scooters, designed to set new industry benchmarks in performance, safety, and compactness. As e-scooter adoption accelerates globally, LG’s innovative solutions address the growing demand for higher energy density and enhanced quality, ensuring riders benefit from superior range and reliability during daily commutes and urban travel.
The newly revealed 48V battery packs leverage LG’s proprietary cylindrical cell technology, which has evolved from historic 1865 and 2170 formats to the next-generation 46-series. This innovation is tailored for light electric vehicles (LEVs), bringing significant advancements in energy density, mechanical safety, and output power—qualities indispensable for modern scooter users seeking dependable and high-performing rides.
LG’s cylindrical batteries are renowned for their “thick can” structure, delivering exceptional mechanical stability and safety. The cutting-edge NCMA cathodes, enhanced with aluminum and LG’s exclusive Safety Reinforced Separator, ensure the packs remain resilient under varied usage conditions. These technologies provide a long cycle life and stable power output, enabling e-scooters to operate with efficiency and responsiveness.
LG Energy Solution’s e-scooter battery packs are tested against 27 safety items and are certified or planned for 11 global standards, demonstrating their commitment to robust manufacturing and global compliance. These batteries also incorporate strict protections such as overcharge, over-discharge cutoff, thermal cutoff, and short-circuit prevention, reflecting international safety benchmarks like RoHS and CE.

With dimensions of 310 mm x 170 mm x 135 mm, the high-capacity 48V battery fits neatly into e-scooter frames, optimizing spatial efficiency. Riders gain up to 60 km per charge, superior torque, and smooth acceleration—all while keeping the scooter lightweight and maneuverable.
LG Energy Solution’s ongoing investment in research and development continues to push boundaries in cylindrical battery technology. The forthcoming mass production of the advanced 46-series batteries in North America is set to further strengthen LG’s supply chain reliability and market leadership.
LG Energy Solution’s latest cylindrical battery packs for e-scooters meld innovation, safety, and global reach, empowering brands and riders to embrace the future of urban mobility confidently. With a fusion of technology, rigorous testing, and worldwide support, LG sets a new standard that’s sure to resonate strongly with industry stakeholders and e-scooter enthusiasts alike.
