Mahindra Thar Roxx 001 Number Plate Sold for ₹1.31 Crore: Auction Highlights and Delivery Details

The much awaited Mahindra Thar Roxx VIN 001 went up for auction recently, and Aakash Minda placed the highest price of ₹1.31 crore to win it. Minda, who had earlier won the auction for the Mahindra Thar 3-door back in 2020 with the highest bid of ₹1.11 crore, was given the first-ever Thar Roxx. Bookings for the Mahindra Thar Roxx began on October 3, 2024, and the SUV garnered an astounding 1.76 lakh bookings within just one hour. Deliveries for the masses are set to begin from October 12, 2024.

However, with such high demand, Mahindra is yet to announce how it plans to manage the overwhelming booking numbers, which could extend the waiting period for the vehicle.

Auction Details and Results

On September 15–16, 2024, the Mahindra Thar Roxx VIN 001 went up for sale. After more than 20 active bidders participated in a competitive bidding process, Aakash Minda was declared the winner. With over 10,980 registrations, the sale attracted a great deal of attention. This is nearly twice as many as the about 5,500 registrations for the Thar 3-door auction in 2020.

Nebula Blue is the colour that Aakash Minda chose for his Thar Roxx. Apart from the unique colour combination, the SUV is accompanied with a unique emblem, endorsed by Anand Mahindra, the Chairman of the Mahindra Group, and a unique branding plate bearing the '001' numeral. The Naandi Foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to social causes, and it received the auction earnings as a donation.
