Waiting times for the Mahindra XUV 3XO, the popular XUV300's replacement, have significantly increased, particularly for its fuel versions. Delivery periods vary according on the model, with the entry-level petrol vehicles seeing the biggest delays as demand for the small SUV rises.
In terms of sales, the Mahindra XUV 3XO has significantly outperformed its predecessor, the XUV300. The XUV300's pre-facelift model sold slightly more than 5,000 units per month on average in FY2023. Nonetheless, the XUV 3XO has averaged more than 8,400 units each month over the past six months, indicating its rising demand. Wait times for Mahindra's small SUV, which competes with the Hyundai Venue and Tata Nexon, have therefore grown considerably.
Variant-wise Waiting Periods
Variant | Engine Type | Waiting Period |
XUV 3XO MX1 | Petrol | Over 12 months |
XUV 3XO MX2 | Petrol | 7-8 months |
XUV 3XO MX3 Pro | Petrol | 6-7 months |
XUV 3XO AX5 | Petrol | 8 months |
XUV 3XO AX5 L | Petrol | 2-3 months |
XUV 3XO AX7 | Petrol | 2 months |
XUV 3XO AX7 L | Petrol | 2 months |
All Diesel Variants | Diesel | 1 month |
1. Petrol Variants
- Entry-Level XUV 3XO MX1: The MX1 petrol variant has the longest waiting period, with deliveries taking over 12 months. This is due to lower production volumes of this variant.
- Mid-Spec AX5 and AX5 L Petrol: Waiting periods for these variants are between 7-8 months and 2-3 months, respectively.
- Lower-Spec MX2 and MX3 Pro Petrol: These variants also have extended delivery times, ranging from 6-8 months.
2. Diesel Variants
All Diesel Variants: In contrast to petrol variants, diesel variants have much shorter waiting periods, with most models being delivered within just 1 month.
Reasons for Delays
The increased wait times are explained by the greater demand for gasoline versions as opposed to diesel. The delays for the MX1 and other low-spec vehicles are also a result of Mahindra producing fewer entry-level petrol cars. Mahindra nevertheless provides a range of engine options to accommodate various client preferences in spite of these difficulties.
Engine Options and Features
The Mahindra XUV 3XO is powered by three engine options:
- 1.2-litre turbo-petrol (111hp)
- 1.2-litre direct injection petrol (131hp)
- 1.5-litre diesel (117hp)
The petrol engines come with a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox, while the diesel gets a 6-speed AMT. Prices for the XUV 3XO range from Rs 7.99 lakh to Rs 15.49 lakh, making it one of the best-equipped compact SUVs in its segment. Key features include:
- Dual-zone climate control
- Level 2 ADAS technology
- Panoramic sunroof
Conclusion
The Mahindra XUV 3XO is gaining a lot of attention in the market for small SUVs because to its remarkable features, potent engine options, and rising demand. However, prospective customers may expect lengthy wait times, particularly if they choose the gasoline version. It is advised to get in touch with nearby dealerships for more precise delivery schedules and availability.
