The Maruti Fronx, launched in April 2023, is preparing for a mid-cycle update. A test mule of the refreshed compact SUV was recently seen on Indian roads. Maruti Suzuki has not confirmed a launch date, but strong demand for the Fronx suggests the facelift could arrive later in 2024.
Key Highlights
- Maruti Fronx facelift test mule spotted on Indian roads
- Over 1.72 lakh units sold in FY2026 as second best-selling Nexa model
- Camouflage covers most exterior and parts of the interior suggesting design updates
Key Details From Recent Sighting
The test vehicle featured camouflage on most exterior elements. Only the front grille, air dam, and alloy wheels were visible. The camouflage extended to the sides of the rear glass, including the top-left area where a CNG sticker is typically placed. This suggests possible changes to the exterior design and variant options.
The Fronx was the second best-selling Nexa model in the 2026 financial year, with over 1.72 lakh units sold. This strong sales performance likely motivates Maruti Suzuki to refresh the model to maintain its market position.
Expected Interior and Feature Updates

Interior changes remain mostly hidden. The door cards were covered, indicating potential updates in design or color schemes. The current Fronx features a 9-inch touchscreen, but the facelift may introduce a larger unit with an updated user interface and additional features.
It is unclear if the facelift will add features such as ventilated seats, a digital driver's display, or a sunroof. These upgrades would align the Fronx with other competitors in the compact SUV segment.
Market Outlook
Maruti Suzuki has not released an official launch timeline for the Fronx facelift. However, given the model's sales figures and the recent appearance of the test mule, an introduction later this year is likely. The update aims to keep the Fronx competitive in a segment with increasing feature expectations and design updates.
